Wow, that's a good return for June!
I never thought about that but they will definitely contribute to keeping the house cooler. I know from working in my attic that the tiles get tremendously hot in the sun and if there was something blocking that it would defo help!
Until I can convince the missus, I gave a small 100w panel and battery. I get most of my devices charged out of it which is pretty good!

I have a home made box that goes over my loft hatch to give a little insulation as it will get hot up there now, and cold in winter.
We have a small panel on the summer house with a car battery to run some lights. It all helps. I did consider having something like you have years ago just to get some benefit from solar.
I have been considering building done kind of summer house soon and maybe powering that by solar. Have to get my fix somehow!!
I'll have to put a small panel on the potting shed we're getting soon to run a light there too. Mind you, all these little solar lights that people put in their gardens are not much use at providing useful light. We have had some, but they tend to break easily so that's more e-waste.
They do break easy. We keep getting them and they often barely last a year. We need all approval light right enough. It's dark up here!
