[En/Esp] Inner Buddha: SketchBook Chapter 4 | Buda Interior: SketchBook Capítulo 4

Another new chapter of my tiny sketchbook is born.

Otro nuevo capítulo de mi pequeño librito de dibujos ha nacido.

In this new creative page i didn't have any concrete idea either, just like every night after my meditation, i arranged my workspace, put some video on youtube to concentrate and stayed watching my little blank canvas to see what i could come up with. Since the beginning of this SketchBook i wanted to draw a buddha but i always ended up drawing something else. This was the moment when i could finally realize a new chapter dedicated to our inner Buddha. With my mechanical pencil i started to draw a face and little by little it took shape.

En esta nueva página creativa tampoco tenia ninguna idea concreta, igual como cada noche después de mi meditación, arreglé mi espacio de trabajo, coloqué algún videito en youtube para concentrarme y me quedé viendo mi pequeño lienzo en blanco a ver qué se me ocurria. Desde el inicio de este SketchBook quería dibujar un buddha pero siempre terminaba dibujando cualquier otra cosa. Este fué el momento en que finalmente pude concretar un nuevo capítulo dedicado a nuestro Buddha interior. Con mi portaminas comencé a trazar un rostro y poco a poco fue tomando forma.

Once the whole sketch was formed and the idea was clear, i began to select the tones to create the first layer. As in all the previous chapters, i used markers, they are my new addiction. One advantage of my little book is that the paper is not white, it already has a creamy tone which is perfect for coloring. I feel that drawing can be compared to life itself, when you create a solid, clear base of what you are going to do, there is no way that the drawing or whatever you are creating will go wrong.

Una vez formado todo el boceto y teniendo clara la idea, comencé a seleccionar los tonos para crear la primera capa. Como en todos los capítulos anteriores, usé marcadores, son mi nueva adicción. Una ventaja de mi librito es que el papel no es blanco, tiene ya un tono cremita lo cual es perfecto a la hora de colorear. Siento que el dibujo puedo compararlo con la vida misma, cuando creas una base sólida, clara de lo que vas a hacer, no hay forma que el dibujo o lo que sea que estés creando salga mal.

In honor of the past full moon, also called the flower moon, a moon that represents fertility, expansion and fullness. I wanted to create this nocturnal, lunar, lotus-flowered ambiance for my little, silent Buddha. Besides that the lotus flower is also a very special symbol of transformation, of spiritual blossoming and rebirth.

En honor a la pasada luna llena, llamada también la luna de las flores, una luna que representa la fecundidad, expansión y plenitud. Quise crear ese ambiente nocturno, lunar y con flores de loto para mi pequeño y silencioso Buda. Además que la flor de loto es también un símbolo muy especial de transformación, de florecimiento espiritual y renacimiento.

Normally i feel a little bit of terror when coloring, but lately with this improvised therapy, i have felt a little bit relaxed when drawing these little pages, because of the theme of my drawing, the choice of colors became a little bit contrasting. I wanted to keep certain elements as they are. The main figure, the little Buddha, i wanted him to be represented by a kind of Tibetan monk, whose robes are usually in shades of red and orange.

Normalmente siento un poquito de terror cuando coloreo, pero últimamente con esta terapia improvisada, me he sentido algo relajada al dibujar estas pequeñas páginas.Por la temática de mi dibujo, la elección de colores se tornó un tanto contrastante. Quise conservar ciertos elementos tal cual son. La figura principal, el pequeño Buda, quería que lo representara una especie de monje tibetano, cuyas túnicas suelen ser de tonos rojos y naranjas.

In the previous chapters i limited myself to using alcohol markers and acrylics mainly. This time i used several colored pencils of pastel tones to add a layer of lights or reflections such as translucent and iridescent. Also to add some light to the deep blue sky. With this special touch i unintentionally ended up drawing a little buddha mixed with the god Shiva. I don't know why but I love blue-skinned creatures.

En los capítulos anteriores me limité a usar marcadores de alcohol y acrílicos principalmente. Esta vez utilicé varios lápices de colores de tonos pasteles para agegar una capa de luces o reflejos como traslúcidos e iridiscentes. También agregar cierta luz al cielo azul profundo. Con este toque especial sin querer terminé como dibujando un pequeño buda mezclado con el dios Shiva. No sé por qué pero me encantan las criaturas de pieles azules.

I wasn't planning on letting my obsession with pointillism come to the surface in this chapter but, i realized i had to let it flow, so i finished this drawing with a layer of dots and as always i love how it looks with that detail.

No tenía pensado dejar que mi obsesión con el puntillismo aflorara en este capítulo pero, me dí cuenta que tenía que dejar que fluyera, así que terminé este dibujo con una capa de puntitos y pues como siempre me encanta como queda con ese detalle.

So this is how this new page of my little enchanted book came to be. A chapter that evokes reflection, silence, the expressiveness of the soul, the deep connection with our inner self.

Y así quedó esta nueva página de mi librito encantado. Un capítulo que evoca la reflexión, el silencio, la expresividad del alma, la conexión profunda con nuestro ser interior.
