Random Thoughts and Life Events

Since the start of the school break, I have had various opportunities to attend events, meet friends, and do activities with and without my family. I remember back in the days when I could not leave without tagging along with our children. When I needed to go somewhere, my husband needed to take work leave to attend to our girls while I was away. Those days were almost gone. As of now, we can leave them at home for a short while since they're kind of independent already 😀. But of course, we check on them through messages and video calls.

As soon as the school break started, I was able to attend a Mission reunion in Pampanga. I made a blog about it almost a month ago. I got reunited with long-time friends and mission mates. It was one of the most unforgettable spiritual experiences I had.

Weeks followed, and I got to worship and visit the Temple almost every week. As for someone who's not familiar with my religious affiliation, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Worshipping at the Temple is one of our priorities. Aside from attending church every Sunday, we also worship inside our holy Temples and perform sacred ordinances there. It is a place of peace, and I find assurance that, whatever chaos the world brings, I can always find peace in my faith in our God.

I also had the chance to meet old friends, reconnect, and catch up. It was a great feeling being able to do so.

My friend who moved to UK and came to visit me and the Temple.

My batchmate as a Full Time missionary two decades ago.

My husband works in the Temple complex. Whenever I need to meet friends, we ( our children) will go together with him to work.

Just a week ago, my sister and her family also visited Cebu, and we also attended the temple together.

Realizations

My life just goes around family, church, and a few close friends. I've been a full-time mother ever since our first child was born. My world is my family. I was once a jet-setter in my past job. travelling around the country, but when I got married, I decided to stay at home. Dedicating my life to family. My family is also very active in our church. I also have church responsibilities. Serving others in any capacity that I can. And I love it! After all, it is said that "when we are in the service of our fellow being, we are only in the service of our God."

We come to different stages in our lives. As a mother of three, I will never forget the struggles of taking care of small children. Now that they are almost in their teenage years, another set of challenges sets in. Never-ending supply of challenges. But those challenges keep us alive and busy, trusting in our Almighty God that, after all the struggles, there is always hope and light at the end of it.

I have always been a believer of simplicity. I find joy in the simple things in life. Things need not be complicated for us to be happy. I find joy in family life. Being together with my husband and my children is a joy. Having a few true friends is also joy.

I love the time attending the temple too! Some may not understand. But my attendance there recharges my spirit and always gives me the energy to keep going with life, no matter the obstacles ahead.

I am grateful to family, friends, and the love of God towards all men.

Thank you for hearing my thoughts today! 😍

Until next time

xoxo,

Met

As they would say , the simple things : laughter, time with family and friends, watching the sunset , or just sipping your favorite cup of coffee in the morning with peace in your heart , etc are the real luxury. Anyone who depends on God knows that he/she has enough in everything. God bless you.
