Tradición

Hola mi gente creativa!! Hoy les traigo un proyecto que fue todo un reto. Mi sobrina pequeña está cursando el preescolar y para una actividad que tuvo en la escuela le confeccioné un "Traje Tradicional Cubano".

A su maestra le encantó y decidió que el día del educador, su grupo haría una coreografía en la actividad de celebración y todos debían vestir trajes típicos.

Fue así como me comprometí a confeccionar en 15 días 13 vestidos iguales para las demás niñas del grupo, el traje de los varones lo haría otra persona.

Para aminorar los gastos de las madres, se me ocurrió plantearles que podían traer una sábana blanca que estuviera en buen estado para reutilizar la tela, así solo tendrían que comprar las cintas rojas y azules que lleva el diseño y el elástico.

A continuación les dejo la descripción e imágenes de mi proceso creativo.

Hello my creative people! Today I bring you a project that was quite a challenge. My little niece is in preschool and for an activity she had at school I made her a "Traditional Cuban Costume".

Her teacher loved it and decided that on educator's day, her group would do a choreographed celebration activity and everyone had to wear traditional costumes.

That is how I committed myself to make 13 identical dresses in 15 days for the other girls in the group, the boys' costumes would be made by someone else.

To reduce the mothers' expenses, I suggested that they could bring a white sheet that was in good condition to reuse the fabric, so they would only have to buy the red and blue ribbons and the elastic.

Below is the description and images of my creative process.

Necesitaremos:

• 1 sábana encimera individual blanca
• 8m de cinta roja
• 8m de cinta azul
• 50cm de elástico de 1,5cm de ancho
• 1m de elástico de 1cm
• Tijera
• Hilo blanco, rojo y azul
• Cinta métrica
• Patrones o moldes

We will need:

• 1 white single top sheet
  
• 8m of red ribbon
  
• 8m of blue ribbon
  
• 50cm of elastic 1.5 cm wide
  
• 1m of 1 cm elastic
  
• Scissors
  
• White, red and blue thread
  
• Measuring tape
  
• Patterns or molds
  

Primeramente cortamos las piezas de nuestro vestido, las 2 partes de la falda, las 2 de la blusa, 1 tira larga de 15x180cm que será el volante de la parte superior del vestido y rectángulos grandes de 20x150cm que serán para el volante de la parte inferior.

First we cut the pieces of our dress, the 2 parts of the skirt, the 2 parts of the blouse, 1 long strip of 15x180cm that will be the ruffle of the upper part of the dress and 2 large rectangles of 20x150cm that will be for the ruffle of the lower part.

Ahora uniremos las partes de la falda, recordemos rematar con zigzgag. Tomamos los 50cm de elástico y lo cosemos en el borde superior. Posteriormente unimos la blusa a la falda y luego por el derecho pasaremos una costura recta para marcar la cintura, que quedará fruncida por el elástico.

Now we will join the parts of the skirt, remember to finish off with zigzag. We take the 50cm of elastic and sew it on the upper edge. Then we join the blouse to the skirt and then we sew a straight seam on the right side to mark the waist, which will be gathered by the elastic.

Tomamos la tira de 15x180cm y cosemos para cerrarla. Doblamos a la mitad y marcamos. También marcaremos las mitades de la parte anterior y posterior de la blusa. Hacemos coincidir las marcas y cosemos el volante al vestido. Hacemos un dobladillo de 1cm de ancho en la parte superior. Con una horquilla introducimos el metro de elástico de 1cm, frunciendo hasta el tamaño adecuado.

We take the strip of 15x180cm and sew to close it. Fold in half and mark. We will also mark the front and back halves of the blouse. Match the marks and sew the ruffle to the dress. We make a 1 cm wide hem at the top. With a fork we insert the 1cm elastic meter, gathering to the right size.

A continuación uniremos los 2 rectángulos grandes para formar el volante de abajo, después lo rizaremos y lo coseremos al borde inferior de la falda.

Next we will join the 2 large rectangles together to form the bottom ruffle, then crimp it and sew it to the bottom edge of the skirt.

Ahora cosemos en todo el redondel de ambos volantes la cinta roja, que quedará al mismo tiempo como dobladillo. Después la azul, dejando entre ellas 1 cm de separación.

Now we sew the red ribbon around the round of both ruffles, which will remain at the same time as a hem. Then the blue one, leaving 1 cm between them.

Para finalizar cortamos
1,5m de cada cinta que nos servirán de cinturón. Listo!!!

To finish we cut 1.5m of each ribbon that will serve as a belt. Ready!!

Al final solo tuve que hacer 9 de los 13 vestidos. Cumplí con mi plazo de entrega y todas las niñas se veían bellas.

In the end I only had to make 9 of the 13 dresses. I met my deadline and all the girls looked beautiful.
