Today's smiles will bloom tomorrow.

Every day we have opportunities to be kind, ways to help, and ways to make someone smile. Today’s contribution, though small when you think of it like a book or a borehole or time spent listening, will become so much bigger than what we will witness or make today. These are the little acts of love or service which contribute to building a future for the community.

I often think of when we have been with children who have received material from educational outcomes as a result of their involvement in the Hive blockchain project. I always remember the joy on their faces and the wonder as they stretched their small hands around the aspects of what we were giving them. One day those children will grow up and share the story of Hive – not just as a blockchain, but as a community that showed up for them. They will have memories of a time when people out there cared enough to believe that they deserved more. With a name that will come to mind, from the books which helped shape their journey.

And the borehole, which is silent and powerful. The plaques we put on them are not just a name but a statement, because that is uncounted hope and human dignity and the countless number of people that cared. And each glass of water every person drinks from their taps becomes a moment, a sprout of gratitude or a story of impact. And one day, when the stories get shared of how life was changed in one of the villages, we will smile that we were part of something bigger than ourselves.

The reality is we do not have to be remembered as heroes. It doesn’t even matter if we are remembered at all, but if everything we do today can inspire one person to believe, one child to dream or one family to hope, then we have done our job well. Hive has given us tools, but the heart of the mission will continue to be the change that makes it possible to move mountains.

Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep serving in whatever capacity that makes sense. What we do today will last in stories that they will grow up with. And long after we are gone, the smiles that we planted will continue blooming.

The smiles on their faces just shows how they feel inside and it is a feeling that words cannot describe.
