It's My First Hive Anniversary
So, I woke up today to @Hivebuzz congratulatory message. Yay, today is my Hive birthday, my one year Hive anniversary.
Needless to say, I was surprised and excited at the same time. Wow, how time flies! It was just like yesterday when I was trying to read a post on Noise.Cash only to be redirected to Hive. It took me a while to get registered because of some issues with ip. And with the help of some good people here, I got registered, got some HP delegated to me and my journey here began in earnest.
After registering I didn't post for a couple of days due to fear and anxiety. Will I be accepted here? Will I fit in due to my lack of adequate knowledge of cryptocurrency? I once had a Reddit account and I know how toxic these forums can be. Is this place full of kind hearted people or the savage dudes that parade most forums? After drafting my first post it took me a while to submit it. I asked myself if I was ready for whatever response it would bring.
My first year on Hive has been a very insightful experience. From learning about the Hive blockchain to meeting and communicating with wonderful people, I've had an interesting experience here. I can't properly describe how excited I felt when I first had over 100 upvotes on one of my posts - it was heavenly. Responding to comments has got me laughing hysterically on a couple of occasions as I got lost in the moment.
Though I've not been incredibly active here, neither have I attempted most of the writing challenges, but each time spent on Hive always felt like a time well spent. I've learnt much more than I can recount. I've traded the tokens given here on Binance on several occasions to help me out of potentially hairy financial situations. This place has been a blessing all round.
As I continue to learn here, I hope to improve and participate more. Sincere appreciations to @Olawalium, @George-dee and @kenechukwu97 for helping me settle here. And thank you all for being respectful, wonderful members of this community.

Bro... You are doing a really good job. Hive can be overwhelming during the early days. But, what I always tell people is that they don't have to know everything about the blockchain. Haha. It doesn't happen at the snap of a finger. It's just one step at a time.

Time really flies, doesn't it?
It's funny to read about your first days after joining because I too had experience with Reddit before Hive, and took me a while to adapt. Now, I consider myself away from Reddit, though I'm nostalgic to it.

Just couldn't cope with the toxicity over there. I would type a comment and ponder upon it for several minutes out of the fear that one crazy but popular dude may find my comment amusing and mock me for it, drawing the attention of his followers to the mocking party. Reddit isn't a place for those who wants to keep their sanity.
Reddit is fine if you only Lurk there.

Hey, Happy Birthday. I can totally relate to feeling hesitant about posting at first. In fact, I was pretty hesitant for a couple of years! But, as you've probably discovered, people here are on the whole very encouraging and supportive. Keep going!
People here have been unbelievably supportive. I've spent a year over here and never had to argue with anyone. The level of mutual respect here is incredibly high.
