Time Is Infinite, You Are Not
Resolutions have been made, and in some cases, it's still been made. Goals have been set, targets already locked in. The new year is going to be a rollercoaster of a ride, and people are preparing to ride it to the fullest, enjoying every bit and trick along the way. Year 2024 is on, the frantic race towards achievement and success continues.
Interestingly, the new year started on Monday, the official first day of a working week. This makes goal setting for the year a lot easier. We have 52 weeks in a year, one is already down, we are left with 51 weeks.
What did you achieve in the first week of the year?
We all have different ways of attacking a goal. Some start strongly, endure a lull at the middle, and finish strongly. Some start lackadaisical only for them to come into their own along the line and then finish very strongly. While some just waltz through it all, expecting the goals to sort themselves out as they live and enjoy their daily lives.
They are the ones who leave their lives in the hands of chance and luck. They do the barest minimum and expect the largest of returns. They blame everything and everyone in the world for their lack of growth. You'll never see them blaming themselves at any point. Never.
Which one do you belong to, the early pacesetters, the late bloomers, or the "I can't kill myself" gang?
In no time, we will be talking about how fast the days have gone by. By then, the targets met will be the only barometer for measuring success made so far in the year. So, get up; get going. Do what you have to do, take action; stop leaving your life to chance. A stitch in time, they say, saves nine.
Find a reasonable target to meet this year. Time is not going, you are the one who is strolling to your end because time is infinite, you are not.
You've said it all; time has no limit. Setting your goals at the start of the year and working towards achieving them, making sure nothing stops you. Relying solely on luck or going with the flow won't take you far. That's why it's crucial to set goals and actively work towards them, so you won't be left behind when everyone else is moving forward.
Well said. Setting goals is one part, working hard towards the set goals is another.

Thank you!!
Some people just expect their goals to accomplish themselves. They don't work towards achieving their goals and by the end of the year, they go on and on, ranting and complaining of how tough and stressful the year had been and then, blame everything around them; both living and nonliving, for their predicament.

Seriously, it's so funny. You just have to see the amount of people getting hyped up by pastors who sweet tongued them into believing the three-month goals they set in January and abandoned till the second week of December can get accomplished in the last two weeks of the year because a particular Obed-Edom in the Bible became wealthy within three months. Some humans are so gullible.

I love all you have said in this post. Some people live their lives with the "what will be will be" narrative not knowing that things only work out when you put in the effort in achieving your goals.
Thank you so much for sharing this.

Of all the jargons my Physics teacher taught me, the one that has blessed me the most is : action and reaction are equal, but opposite. We get whatever we give out.
The little addition I'd love to add to this amazing write-up is that, as long as we don't want to work we shouldn't expect anything to eat too. You want something, you have to go get it and not just sit there and wait for someone to bring it for you.
Thank you so much for sharing it with us #dreemerforlife
Thank you for the addition, #dreemer.
The only reward for a person with big dreams but poor work ethic is nothing but unfulfilled ambitions and regrets. Those dreams will remain nothing but a daydream.
You're welcome 🥰.
And yes, the feeling of regret and unfulfillment is the worse
To be able to hit our goals, we need to channel our time and attention to the things that really matter that will lead to our success and so taking actionable steps and staying focused with a positive mindset is all we need to achieve our goals.
