Secret battle mage challenge: Ferocity
Hello summoners! Its another good time to share our secret battle mage challenge, where strategy meets skill in the battle arena the weekly mage challenge expose splinterlanders to learn incredible battle strategy shared by other players.
This week's ruleset ferocity gives all lineup monsters fury ability which means monsters in the battle arena could be more aggressive with their attacks.
This ruleset requires not much tips
A summoner need to avoid use of taunt monster
Not following the first tip and coming up with few taunt can quickly eliminate an opponent from the arena.
Take good advantage of good attacking monster like the opportunity, sneak they are best suitable for this ruleset.
Capitalise on the battle by improvising with shield and healing monsters.
For this battle ruleset I used combine elements water plus life element monster to take out my opponent with their death element monster below is the battle link.
Battle ruleset
All units have the fury abilities; frontline battle monsters will possess spacial abilities in addition to their abilities which mean a monster with sneak or opportunity ability can be very formidable in this ruleset as this could increase their attacking abilities.
There are no restrictions to what monsters to be used in this ruleset, to be on the safe side avoid using taunt ability monsters as they could increase lineup vulnerability, since monster with taunt are quickly targeted by taunt monsters they will not be suitable for this ruleset.
Battle detail
I'd expect to have some good mana for this battle so I can come up with good lineup monsters, since I'm given 26 cost mana cap to come up with my lineup battle monsters I opts in for combine element using water and life monster and my opponent did choose death element for their battle strategy.
My lineup monsters did great as I did emerge winner at the end of the battle.
Battle lineup
DJINN OSHANNUS My first lineup tanks for this ruleset is a legendary monster with magic attacking ability it has 50% chance of evading monsters with range and magic attacks it can be used in any position and also best suitable for a tank.
MERDAALI GUARDIAN next is a healing monster which goes hand in hand to support a frontline tank it can give additional heal to a tank anytime it takes damage from opponent side.
DEEPLURKER melee attacking monster have double chance with fury ability they can always cause double damage on taunt with an opportunity monster in my frontline list I can get rid of my opponent weak links.
STITCH LEECH this monster is from life element I choose it because it's a sneak attacking monster that can evade my opponent lineup from back.
PELACOR BANDIT Another sneak attacking monster from water element it can attack my opponent backline monster.
Battle strategy
My strategy was first to avoid use of taunt monster for this ruleset next was to counter attack my opponent using more melee attacking monster with an opportunity monster which can take out my opponent weak link and sneak attackers taking out my opponent backline monster.
My tank on the battle will focus on my opponent tank being a magic attacker I don't need to worry much about thorn ability monsters from my opponent side if my tank should take lots of health damage my healing monster will be of good support.
My strategy did worked out as planned took me some few round in the battle to take out my opponent.
Battle arena
The battle did not go easy on my opponent my lineup monsters were quite ferocious and did not give my opponent a breathing space for attack all my lineup monsters were very active in the battle leading to quick victory the battle lasted seven rounds with all my lineup still alive till the last round.
Round 1 the battle arena is set and monsters ready to rumble round one was a battle of five against six although splinterland isn't a game of number be straight no monster was eliminated in the first round.
Round 2 Round two went on well both my opponent monsters taking lots of damage this gives a good hint where the battle is heading.
Round 3 My opponent tank is still in the battle but the battle tide has turned against my opponent with two monsters out of my opponent lineup.
Round 4 My sneak attacking and opportunity monsters did most of the elimination with my opponent tank and scared monster remaining.
Round 5 at the end of round five my opponent tank finally got eliminate from the arena no change for my opponent.
Round 6,7 last round my opponent scavenging monster have add up more health sats although it can't launch any attacking which make my monster take complete control.
