Meet Gani || introductory post .
Hi everyone.
My name is Gani Makai from Taraba state Nigeria, a graduate of Law from Taraba state university jalingo.
I got to know about hive Blockchain through my leader who happens to be The NYSC Marshall band president Jos Plateau state in person of ovey10. We first met at the NYSC camp in jos plateau state where i joined the marshall Band and @ovey10 being our tutor and president of the marshall Band noticed the love and passion I have for my craft shared with me about Hive Blockchain. He is a picture of my on my NYSC khaki (uniform)
Having shared his experience over the years with Hive Blockchain to me and how it has Improved him personally and musically and I saw the need to be part of this great family in order to attain purpose driven growth in my music career where I can meet like minds to share ideas and learn new skills to better my guitar playing.
I'm a multi instrumentalist but I focus on the bass guitar. growing up, my parents happen to be singers in the church so often times I follow them for choir rehearsals that was how I started loving music as a child I started playing drums but later switched to the bass guitar where I feel I can express myself the more. I was a boy who grew up in a Christian home where we always listen to gospel songs such as that of Don Moen,Ron kenolly and women of faith and one of the guitar players I admired the most growing up as a child was Sir Abraham Laborrell because of the way he plays the bass.guitar and dances with it with his grey hairs it was fun watching him as a child I could sit for long watching music videos because it gives me joy. That has really helped me in the pursuit of my guitar playing career.
my experience in the early days I started learning bass guitar 2013 after my GCE exams (junior WAEC) I used that 3 months holiday to start learning the basics of playing the bass where I was been thought by my church bass player. my early days have been nothing but challenging, from band members who wouldn't like me playing for them because I was a learner and I don't play the bass guitar so well up to there taste lol .......and most times I feel bad and less of myself I would complain to my Dad and my teacher but he will tell me to not worry and continue, God has been helping me and my energy never drops. Although there are days I will feel like quiting because a particular song is hard to score but then thanks to my teacher who was also a member of the band he was always putting me through and the internet where I've always watched breakdown of technical songs and I apply them in my day to day guitar play. I've been playing bass guitar for the pass 11years, through this journey, I have played in numerous programs and events where I mostly put them on my YouTube channel for record sake and on that note it has helped me monitor my progress over time and has gain me recommendations arround. Here is a link to my YouTube channel.
Being a music player doesn't earn me money to be able to keep up to my daily needs as a young man without a father, I lost my Dad on the 11 of October 2021 ever since then, my mum took up the responsibility of the family which made us go into full time farming together with my siblings after which we sale the food products in other to make both ends meet and pay for our tuition fees. during this period, I've always find it difficult to rehearse and play music as usual cos we always go to farm to work and it has greatly affected my music life I have to make sure in all these I make my mum happy and proud of me that someday she will enjoy the fruit of her labour. A picture of me and my mum sharing good moments on mother's day
. MY JOURNEY INTO THE UNIVERSITY:
I graduated from High school in 2016 and my dream was aspiration was to be a lawyer. Having that in mind, I sat for UTME exams twice by which I passed both before I gained admission into the university due to the competition of studying a professional course but in all the journey was bitter sweet one at the I graduated and waiting to go to Law school where I will sit for an exams called the Bar finals before I will be called to the Nigerian Bar as a barrister and solicitor of the supreme court of Nigeria... Here is a picture of me during my undergraduate days in a law organized by the faculty of Law Taraba state university; it is a mandatory exercise for all law students which serves as one of the criteria for you completing your studies
Im looking forward to that great day and I pray for success in Jesus name Amen. I'm currently serving in Jos plateau state Nigeria.
. MY HOBBIES:
I love making music with my friends because everyone has something in him to offer and at the get end it makes more sense and I also love taking picture of such moments which serves a great memory each time I see it reminds me of great music that we made. Here is a picture of what it looks like playing and jamming out with friends
I also like playing games like car racing and football. What I hate the most is swimming. I'm super excited and looking forward to meeting new people and sharing ideas and exciting moments
