Keeping Up With Our Household Needs: Buying Rice Grains In Bulk This Sunday
Hello, weekend experiences community!
It was morning on Sunday when my hubby and I discussed how to keep up with our household needs.
One thing he suggested is to buy rice grains in bulk, sun-dry them, and store them for future use.
Ate Tess, our friend, took the lead and found a good supplier who sold sacks of rice grains for only 1,000 pesos each.
We pooled our money together and bought a few sacks.
This rice grain needs to dry under the sun.
It needs to be patiently spread under the bright sunlight, turning them carefully so they dry evenly.
Once dry, it can be stored in airtight containers, ensuring they stay fresh and protected from pests.
This dried rice saves us money compared to buying pre-cooked rice regularly.
It's better prepared for fluctuating prices.
As we decided to gather the rice grains this Sunday, we're with our dog Toby.
He excitedly hopped onto the tricycle, ready for an adventure.
We passed the harvesters working in the rice paddies, busy at work.
As the tricycle rolled along, Toby sniffed the fresh air and enjoyed the ride.
After a short ride, we arrived at the place of the friendly supplier who sold sacks of rice grains for just 1,000 pesos each.
She has a flower-filled garden, bursting with different blooms — cockscombs, bougainvilleas, and allamandas.
While waiting for my hubby and Kuya Danny to finish loading the sacks of rice grains onto the tricycle, I couldn't help but appreciate the stunning surroundings.
I took out my phone and carefully captured the beautiful blooms.
These flowers glow even more brightly against the greenery behind them.
After that, once everything was in place, making sure everything was perfect, sacks secured, we headed back home.
It was a smart decision to buy rice grains instead of just the rice itself. Such a valuable skill... Lol.
Until our next journey and little moments...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 👋🥰
