Fetching Water From The Old Well: Enjoying The Garden, The Pinakro, And The Feisty Turkey

Today, I'm sharing how my husband fetches water from the old well.
After returning the monitor we borrowed, our friend said that she was feeling unwell.
And so we decided to lend a hand by supplying her bathroom with water.
Running water wasn't always available in their area, so they've relied on this ancient well system for generations.
With a sturdy stick and bucket, my hubby started to lower it into the well, steady and carefully...
Then, after that, he pulled it up filled with cool and fresh water.
Our little boy, Ryzen, watched everything with curiosity, eagerly following his Daddy's every move.
And so his Daddy explained to him and showed him the whole process, step by step.
To Ryzen, it was like magic. 😁
While waiting patiently for my hubby to fill up the buckets with water, I decided to take a moment to enjoy the garden.
Last time we visited here, I had already shared some of its beauty through my Wednesday walk post.
But I couldn't resist exploring again.
I spotted three gorgeous gumamela flowers, each one with a different color.
Red, pink, and yellow.
Their delicate petals shine under the soft sunlight. 🌸💓
I also noticed a striking Red Ginger flower, standing out vividly against the green leaves. 💖
These blossoms have such breathtaking beauty. 😘
After that, my husband finished fetching water from the well, and he finally returned with the buckets filled.
He was tired but happy, knowing he had completed his task to help our friend.
As he set the buckets down, our friend greeted us with a lovely surprise — it was a traditional snack called pinakro.
This is prepared using ripe saba bananas and sweet potatoes, slowly cooked in coconut milk, with just a hint of sugar and a pinch of salt.
The aroma was so tempting that we started eating it, though we didn't wait to go home.
We just enjoyed it there, savoring its rich, sweet flavor and the creamy coconut milk. 🤤
After that, we decided to head home.
But as we strolled along, there was this feisty turkey, standing right in our path.
It's seemingly unfazed by our presence, puffed out its chest, and let out a loud gobble.
I'm not sure if I should keep walking.
What if he attacks me? Lol.
When I was a kid, I had a bit of a traumatic experience with turkeys.
One chased me, and I had to run for my life. 🙈
So ever since then, I've been a bit apprehensive around these feathered creatures.
Good thing my hubby goes around him, carefully sidestepping the turkey. 😅
After that, we continued on our way and safely arrived home.
Our day was filled with the memory of fresh air, yummy food, and a water-fetching adventure. 🌷

We have that well before and that's our source of water for laundry and water used except for drinking. But we made it into a deep well with a waterpump because open well is risky especially to children.
Yeah. Katakot nga po mahulog ang bata. Though medyo mataas naman sya, pero may tendency talaga, lalo kung di maingat. Bat nga kaya di nila ipa deep well noh?
Well that is an old but still functioning well.
