A Gift From Lola: Ryzen's First Bike

One afternoon, my mom asked me how much a bike costs nowadays.
I didn't have any idea.
It's been years since I last looked at bike prices, and I knew my old estimates wouldn't be reliable.
So I told her, I'm not sure, I'll try to canvass first.
She told me to keep her updated, coz she wanted to give a bike as a gift for my son.
I started checking online and comparing prices.
They were priced reasonably, mostly ranging from ₱700/$11.81 to ₱900/$15.19.
They came in different colors and designs, and honestly, they already looked decent and sturdy enough.
Of course, I also checked prices at the mall. And it's a big difference.
The same kind of bike but the price is from ₱1,500/$25.30 to ₱2,500/$42.17.
When I updated my mom about the price comparison, the decision became obvious.
Buying online was the smarter choice. Practicality always comes first.

The bike arrived last Thursday, packed in a box.
At that moment, my son had no idea what was inside.
My hubby told him that the box contained his bike.
So he kept asking us to open it, over and over again.
But because we were still in the middle of house chores, we told him to wait.
He hovered around the box, checking on it from time to time. 😅

When I finally opened it, every part was still detached.

At first, I felt confident about assembling it.
I tried to imagine how the pieces should fit together.
Since there was no manual included, I had to rely on the photos posted online.

I kept comparing the parts in front of me, with the bike on the screen, hoping I could somehow piece it all together.
My hubby came to help, and together we tried assembling it.

Still, it wasn't as easy as it looked.
Without the proper tools, we had to pause and accept that we couldn't finish it that day.
So we left the bike half-done.

In the morning, Ryzen woke up inspired.
The very first thing he did after opening his eyes was look around and search for his bike.
But he couldn't see it anywhere.
Then his daddy came in from outside informing Ryzen that his bike was already assembled, and it was outside.
Ryzen immediately rushed to it and carried it inside.
He climbed on it and started riding it right away.

He was still learning how to pedal, but he's so happy.

Of course, I feel deeply thankful to my mom for being so generous, especially when it comes to her apo.
When I updated her, I also recorded a short video of Ryzen saying "thank you" to his lola.
My mom was so happy when she received it and was more delighted hearing my story about how excited both Ryzen and Aiden were.
Until our next moments...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
