Drawing A Portrait [1865]

Hello everyone!

Today, I want to share with you my new art work. It's a random portrait drawing of a beautiful young woman with fluffy hairs and a gorgeous smile.

The portrait was done with a blue ballpoint pen on a cardboard paper. I used scribble technique to create this piece.

Below are my step-by-step processes:

Thank you.

Using a single blue ballpoint on cardboard is a bold move, and it gives the lines a lively rhythm.
Your loose pen strokes build volume fast, which suits that beAUtiful fluff you mentioned.
It feels confident and clean < definitley one of your smoother pieces, and the smile really lands like it knows it owns the room.

Thank you buddy👍
Pen is my favorite medium and I have been practicing with it for almost a decade now.

...and the smile really lands like it knows it owns the room.

Normally, I love to capture the mood of the character I'm sketching. I think it helps add beauty to a piece.

Your right. A decade with the pen shows in the control and the way you let the mood breathe, and taht confidence is why the smile owns the room. Definietly keep leaning into that vibe, it makes the scribbles feel alive.
