Street Foods in the Streets of Quiapo

Hey guys, it’s me again, Max! Today, I want to share what I do whenever I feel sad. Hahaha. If you remember from my intro blog, I mentioned that I often feel down, so I figured I’d share what helps me get through those days.

It was almost 6 PM when I suddenly felt the urge to go somewhere anywhere just to keep my mind from overthinking unnecessary thoughts. Originally, I planned to eat at a samgyupsalan place, but when I got there, there was only one available table, and it was right in the middle of couples enjoying their meals. That made me feel even more alone, so I decided to walk out hahaha.

As I was walking, I saw a jeepney going to Quiapo, and without thinking twice, I hopped in even though I had no idea where I was actually going. Hahaha. Then, I realized it was a perfect chance to visit the church, so I did. I stayed for a bit, said my prayers, and then walked around the streets of Quiapo.

Of course, I couldn’t resist the street food! First, I had siomai, which I’d rate a solid 7/10. The portion was generous, and it was quite filling, but the flavor was a bit lacking. Still, not bad!

Next, I tried fried pigs kidney, and OMG, this was a 10/10 for me! It didn’t look appetizing at first, but trust me, it was bursting with flavor. I even had a few cups before moving on to another stall.

Then, I tried fried siopao and magic water both were just okay. Nothing too special, to be honest. Hahaha. The siopao filling wasn’t great, so meh.

I also had grilled squid, and the sauce was chef’s kiss just perfect!

As I wandered around, I saw stalls selling candies, more fried food, and all sorts of random stuff. Walking aimlessly actually felt nice.

Today was fulfilling in its own way. It made me realize a lot of things especially about money. You know that phrase, "Money can’t buy happiness"? Yeah… I don’t think that’s true. Because when you have money, you can eat good food and go wherever you want. Of course, I know money isn’t everything, but let’s be real it’s a huge part of life.

This made me realize that I need to work harder, be less lazy, and stop letting fear and sadness consume me. Because if I let them take over, how will I earn money, right?

Anyway, that’s all for now! I hope to share more with you soon.

Toodles!

Wow delicious street food. 😍 Pictures look absolutely yummy and tasty. I just hope here in our province there are midnight stores too where you can buy food just in case you feel hungry at night time.
