It's time to take care of oil palm plantations
Today I return to this community and I will discuss the management or care of oil palm plants in plantations, hopefully it will be useful for friends here. And today I returned to the oil palm plantation to do my usual activities, namely looking at oil palm trunks. which no longer bear fruit and I will cut it to replant new ones. After not taking care of this oil palm plantation for a long time, because there are activities in other plantations.
Old and unproductive oil palm trees need to be cut and replaced with new oil palm seeds so that oil palm plantations remain productive and produce high quality oil palm fruit. I have been doing the process of cutting oil palm plants for a long time with a senso or chainsaw. After the oil palm tree reaches a certain age or no longer produces fruit.
Apart from that, cutting old oil palm plants also aims to reduce the risk of pest and disease attacks and maintain the health of oil palm plantations so that they remain fertile and productive. The process of cutting old oil palm plants can also be used as organic fertilizer for new oil palm plants. Because natural oil palm stems will rot by themselves and are very good for organic fertilizer.
By cutting down old oil palm plants to replant new ones, it is hoped that the productivity of oil palm plantations will increase and obtain more optimal results. Apart from that, this process will also help to maintain the balance of the oil palm plantation ecosystem and the surrounding environment.
That's just a little discussion about caring for and pruning old or mature oil palm trees which I have discussed above, hopefully it will be useful for all of us and see you again in the next post, of course with a different article.
Note: I originally wrote all the writing in my post in Indonesian and then I used Google translate to translate it into English.
