There are several ways by which we can store our grains intact while sleeping or doing another thing entirely. We always need to teach ourselves what is ideal, although sometimes it is not easy accessible. Just like this silo you are looking at you need to get a lot of permission before using it. You can also address the permission to the head of the community.
This silo is is very useful when you have a very large quantity of Grace to store and to dry as well. When we were in the university we also have the privilege of visiting a location there in Niger State Nigeria where we have a very big silo. This silo is used for Grains like Maize, Millet, Guinea corn, cowpea and so on. Whenever you Harvest it in a very large quantity, straight you bring it to this silo. And it starts to get dried easily. I took some pictures of it while a quick visit although I was not given a thorough permission to enter the premises.
The location also matters a lot. when you have this silo in a very commercial area or settings it will bring more people to use it. And when it is being used so many people will know the advantage of making a very big drying means for their grains.
With what research I made, it is cleared that this particular signal has been built for more than 5 to 7 years. And people are using it yearly. It is also one of the government built large storage

That point about needing permission from the community head before using the silo really stood out. From an accounting angle, good location and steady access cut losses on maize and cowpea spoilage and make the cash flow very very predictable. Government buitl storage running 5 to 7 years, thats proof the model works when maintenance is clear and fees stay transparent. Dry grains and dry numbers make me happy :)
Absolutely. There is a lot great maintenance to allow better and long lasting impression for usage.
Totally, preventive maintainence beats repair every time :)
Earmark a tiny per bag fee just for upkeep, keep simple reciepts, share last service dates, and use a monthly checklist for fans, sensors and seals so folks see where money goes.
A small reserve for parts and belts keeps cashflow steady and usage smooth, right'?
