Hello Hivers ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’˜,

The snails is one of the animal that is not commonly reared by farmers and this is because it has a lot of obedient rules for it to stand. Meaning that there are some criterias for keeping snails or for raising them for consumption or for experimental usage. We have so many reasons for keeping it as a farmer. So it depends on individual discretion on this and for most farmers it is for commercially. Where you raise a lot of the snails for people to come and buy and in some cases for students to prepare for laboratory test. I could remember when we were in the University, we did a lot of test on snails in the laboratory for more than two semesters. And we were sent out to budget for more than 40 pieces of snails per group. Now I see you why some individuals will go for snail farming.

It is also raise according to sizes which means that every month you need to keep sorting them out. This sorting out will also help your farm to grow at a very fast rate. I have also keep the snails for a very long time and for some reasons I told them out. But for now I will also keep in touch with more bigger snails so that I can raise them for different purposes. Snails are extremely easy to keep but not for the lazy farmers. Not for the lazy farmers in the sense that you need to make sure that the environment where you keep them is absolutely clean always. In as much as you keep to so many rules guiding snail keeping you are good to go. But when you leave your snail Farm for another purpose or assignment and you keep feeding them everyday without removing the leftovers. You are accumulating a lot of on healthy waste which will later come back and do a lot of harm to them individually or collectively. So you need to keep them Clean always.

The Africa Giant snails are very common here in West African Nigeria and the they have different kinds of signs, body differences and some significant spot which will make them distinguish from others. They are always of big sizes with black spot on their shell. The African Giant also in a parallel line shell. Even when you hold them with your hands, you will quickly recognize that these are giant African snails. Although we also have smaller sizes as well and they are also of the same category. I took some pictures of the African giant snails so that we can absolutely see it and know some similarities and differences in them.

  • To their shell, they are hard to crack. This is also one of the differences in other breeds of snails. Before you can be able to crack the African giant snails you eat them with a very hard object. And this is one of the quick differences you can really observe in them.

The African Giant snails also makes a lot of quick reproduction. If you want to go for the snail farming business it is absolutely recommended that you go for the African giant snails because they are quick to reproduce. No matter what condition you keep there with a good favorable habitat they will always reproduce fast.

They also have quick response to growth. With a lot of record keeping I deduce that within a short period of time they become more bigger when you feed them with a very good balance diet ratio. Just like human being they also have their own balanced diet which is highly recommended. You may place your snails on different types of ratio and they will consume it.

For those that absolutely consume snails it is very delicious and it of first class calcium provider. If you are very familiar with the doctors and for those that are straightforward with what they do sometimes they recommend for patience to eat as many as snail for quick recovery for bone adjustments and fast Growth. Instead of using a lot of calcium tablets. This type of meat can be recommended.

WHERE CAN A SNAIL BE KEPT?

  • A snail can be raised in any form of cool environment, with a lot of sandy loamy soil for those who want to wear them with the soil structure. But nowadays we have different ways by which you can breed the snails. It can be kept in an unused tyre, providing the condition necessary for them just like the way I did mine. You can keep them inside your pen. These are recommended cage or pen for snail keeping. You can also bring out creativity in you by providing a very good suitable environment for them depending on your own country weather conditions.
