Opening Chaos Packs and Rising To Silver in Ranked - Splinterlands Social Media Challenge
Greetings to all. I'm back today with content from the Splinterlands game.
Lately I've been putting quite a few hours into it in order to keep improving my knowledge of the game which is still very basic.

One of the first steps to progress in the game is to improve my deck of cards. I could buy them directly from the market, but I don't have enough experience to know which ones suit me best.

I recently invited a friend to the game, @koizu. When he bought the spell book, in addition to some credits, he was awarded some free Chaos packs.
My friend relayed to me the opening of packs, where he was quite lucky and managed to draw several Gold Foil cards. I felt like trying my luck, so I took advantage of the fact that I wanted to improve my deck.
In the pack opening section, I realized that I had about 40 potions of each type left over, which increased my chances of getting better loot.

Until now, I had never opened packs in the game. I had the thought that they were expensive, until I found to my surprise that for as little as 30 cents I could buy one.
I bought a total of 12 packs, which was proportional to what I had in potions to get the most out of legendary and Gold Foil possibilities.

Normally, I am not very lucky, but this time I felt it was my day. In the first pack, I pulled a Gold Foil Epic card called Magi Of Chaos. Over time, I have used this card quite a lot.
In my third pack, I managed to pull my first legendary card in the game: a fire-type card called Grum Flameblade.
This card is very useful for me because I usually use a fire summoner in my battles.

The final balance was quite positive: I got two legendary cards and several high-value Gold Foils. I think I tripled the investment I made in the packs, although I decided to keep most of the cards.

Now that I had many better cards - some of them Gold Foil - it was time to start playing Modern Ranked and move up to silver.
In the beginning, my winrate was 50/50, I didn't give so much importance to the battle rules and put my strategy together in a few seconds.
Seeing that my strategy of quick battles was not prospering. I started to take a break to read the battle rules and card abilities.
Ahora que tenia muchas mejores cartas -algunas de ellas Gold Foil-, era el momento de comenzar a jugar Modern Ranked y subir a plata.
Al principio, mi winrate era 50/50, no le daba tanta importancia a las reglas de la batalla y armaba mi estrategia en pocos segundos.
Al ver que mi estrategia de batallas rápidas no prosperaba. Comencé a tomarme una pausa para leer las reglas de batalla y las habilidades de las cartas.
The concentration I put into building my strategies paid off. I achieved a streak of seven victories, where I had planned each battle according to its rules.
I was far from reaching silver, but so many winning battles gave me the boost I needed to keep climbing the rankings. With a few more winning streaks, I had managed to climb from bronze III to bronze 1, in just one hour of play.
These are my rewards for moving up to Bronze 1.

Estaba lejos de llegar a plata, pero tantas batallas ganadas me dieron el impulso que necesitaba para seguir subiendo en el ranking. Con unas cuantas rachas de victoria más, habia logrado subir de bronce III a bronce 1, en tan solo una hora de juego.

In these two hours I spent playing the game trying to climb to silver. I had learned enough to be able to improve my rank in the game, now it only remained to win the battles.
Now I took my time to plan my strategy. First, I carefully read the rules of battle. Then, I checked the available mana and, based on these two factors, I chose the summoner that best suited my strategy.
With another small streak of four victories, I had achieved my goal, which was in just one week of playing again, to reach Silver to have better rewards in the season.
En estas dos horas que me las pasé jugando intentando a subir a plata. Habia aprendido lo suficiente para poder mejorar mi rango en el juego, ahora solo restaba ganar las batallas.
Ahora me tomaba mi tiempo para planificar la estrategia. Primero, leia detenidamente las reglas de batalla. Luego, revisaba el maná disponible y, en base a estos dos factores, eligia el invocador que mejor se adaptaba a mi estrategia.
Con otra pequeña racha de cuatro victorias, habia logrado mi objetivo, que era en tan solo una semana de volver a jugar, lograr llegar a Plata para tener mejores recompensas en la temporada.
Now that I was in Silver III I wanted to set my next goal to reach Silver I, for next week. I think it's going to be difficult, because I'm encountering users with better cards and who take more time to elaborate their strategies.

Ahora que estaba en Plata III queria fijar mi próximo objetivo en lograr llegar a Plata I, para la semana que viene. Creo que va a estar dificil, porque me estoy encontrando con usuarios con mejores cartas y que se toman más tiempo a elaborar sus estrategias.

The truth is that I'm getting more and more hooked on the game. I usually consume 50 energy every other day, with the goal of getting as much GLINT and redeeming it for rare cards.
