One layer digital portrait painting

This painting is a special one, because i didn't paint this the usual way.
usually i sketch and then use different layers for different parts to make the drawing.
not only this was painted on a single layer but also i didn't make a sketch for it.
i started the drawing with a massive brush and slowly worked towards the smaller shapes.

this was a very fun experience for me.

I wouldn't try this cause I might end up making a mess of my entire work hahaha.
I like to draw with different layers so I can easily clear, erase or undo my errors

i do this because sometimes its good to let go a little and also this way i have the most fun drawing.

using layer and all the tools digital drawings provide makes the whole drawing process seem a bit technical and i don't always enjoy that.

making this drawing was more of a meditative state..
you should try this at least once.

Greetings,
The idea of working on a single layer without a sketch sounds difficult to someone who does not have lot of experiences.
The final portrait has so much life and energy.
