Female Forest Healer - holozing fan art
Hello everyone, today i made a new digital drawing and it is one of the characters from @holozing.
This is my first one ever in this community. I have been seeing a lot of holozing art lately and i was thinking of giving it a shot but i just couldn't get enough time to draw one.
This one however i did not start with the mindset to draw the forest healer. it started out as a normal portrait painting.
after drawing for a while i decided to add some elements of the forest healer in the drawing.
I really like vivid and saturated colors and so thats what i did in this drawing. see the process below and i will describe them a little more.
I started with a plain sketch of a girl, you can't tell at this point that she has any special traits. i use a pencil brush provided by procreate for this part.
after the sketch is done i set the layer to multiply mode and create a new layer beneath it.
i use the lasso tool to select the whole area and fill it with one base color, which is the color of the skin.
then i use a large brush separate some area's like the hair and some shadow shapes.
i wanted to add some branches to her hair and so i add them in this part of the drawing so i will have a little more control over the lighting and color, this however i do on a separate layer.
i draw the details of the eyes and the lips, i keep the nose very simple.
i draw details of the hair with the hair brush i created watching a youtube tutorial.
At this point of the drawing i decided to add one of those creature of holozing in the drawing. at first the drawing of the animal was really bad, i sort of thought of drawing a cat but later i changed the structure to how they originally looks.
At the end of the drawing i add most of the green stuff in the drawing to convey the idea that its a forest character.
i draw the background later and keep the background super simple and use the gausian blur on it.
And there you have the final result.
Let me know your thoughts about this drawing in the comments.
