Digital portrait painting
Hello everyone, how are you all today? i hope everyone is having a great day. Today i made a new digital portrait painting.
i am making another one of those simplistic style drawing that needs to be drawn fast and with loose hands without any care.
This is one of the most fun piece i have drawn, you will know why while reading through the process description.
this is the final art:
Below are some process shots with a bit of explanation.
Obviously i start with a sketch. but usually i would start with a circle or just draw lines and sketch out the face, but for this one, i used the box method. Rotating a box in space is much easier than rotating a circle.
But the box method doesn't always work, or maybe i don't know how to make it work.
Anyway, i tried it and doesn't look half bad.
I didn't bother cleaning up the sketch, i got straight into coloring this drawing. I used a neutral color for the base and then placed different colors on top of it. It feels wrong when you do it but the result actually doesn't look that bad.
Since the goal was to make a simpler drawing, i quickly put all the different color shapes and then blended them and also used the hair brush to draw some hair quickly.
Used the one layer method for drawing the hair, later i did the erasing part.
And now that the drawing kind of looks nice i thought of cleaning it up a bit. so went back to the sketch layer and cleaned it up as much as i could. I also blended the colors on the face more to get a more smoother feeling.
Then i quickly painted the hair and the cloths. i didn't want to put too much time on these features but still try to get a good feel about the whole drawing.
and finally i gave some highlights, drew the eye lashes and finished the drawing.
Thank you for visiting my blog. let me know your thoughts in the comments.
