The Ultimate Goal For Retirement Plans

The future belongs to those who planned for it; that's how the universe works. Some people make mistakes by not planning for the future, believing that tomorrow will take care of itself; that's not possible. Tomorrow is always guaranteed when we put our commitments into today. We cannot just sit back without doing anything and expect things to fall into place magically. The future only responds to preparation. Just like the analogy of a farmer, a farmer who wants a bountiful harvest does not sit at home and hope for crops to grow; he works hard to prepare the soil, plants the seed, and waters it consistently to get a good result. We have to contribute our quota before allowing tomorrow to take care of itself; that's a bitter truth.

There's good news....

The good thing about the future is that it does not arrive quickly like a thief in the night; it approaches slowly, giving us time to build the future we want for ourselves. I believe one of the wise ways of building a good future is establishing a reliable retirement plan, either as a business owner or a salary earner. A retirement plan helps us to be at peace when the time draws near, when our strength could no longer carry us the way it used to. Most of these plans are built on financial stability; failing to make the right preparations can leave us feeling unsure and unprepared for what lies ahead.

Planning for the future.

I have never seen myself as someone who wants to depend on a salary forever. Of course, if I’m offered a job with a substantial and stable income, I will consider it. There is nothing wrong with earning a salary; it can create a starting point before executing future plans. Salary can serve as a stepping stone, not the final destination for me. If I take a salary job, I'll work with intention and not spend all my earnings. I will make it a priority to save a meaningful portion of my income every single month. Not just what is left over after spending, but a disciplined percentage set aside first.

I do not plan to remain in salary work for long, waiting for a pension at retirement age. Pension works best for those who commit to long-term service, but it's a different thing on my path. I know I'm not going to benefit from a pension since I'm not going to work for a longer period. With the savings I accumulate, I will invest in starting and developing my business. I want to create a business that grows beyond me, something sustainable, profitable, and impactful. I know that building a business requires patience, learning, resilience, and consistency. It may not grow overnight, but with dedication and smart decisions, it can become a reliable source of income. As the business expands, I will reinvest profits wisely and diversify into other long-term income-generating opportunities, investments that will continue to bring ROI even when I am not actively working every day.

The ultimate goal is being financially free.

I want a situation where I'll have control over my time and choices. I don't want to struggle to work because of bills, but I choose to work because of the passion I have for my work. I will work for the future where I will be able to afford quality healthcare, spend meaningful time with the people I cherish, travel when I desire, and involve myself in the hobbies that bring me joy. I do not want to reach retirement age feeling bored or dependent; I want to live a fulfilled life through my savings, business, and investments. With hard work and dedication, I believe everything is going to align.
