My Perception On Politics

A group of people can not stay together without having someone who will lead them, hence it's always important to have a leader who will always lead the organization or society, the process of electing/choosing a leader is known as politics, and during that time, different promises are made in other to make people choose them. It's unfortunate in my region that the majority of all the promises made to people are not fulfilled, and not only that, the people fighting for power can do anything to make sure they sit at the top and that's why the majority believe that politics is a dirty game.

Most of the players are trying to win the game not for the interest of the people but to solve their problems. people have different views about politics, and most times people's perceptions about politics are shaped based on their experience, social network, race, and some other things that surround them, and same thing applies to me, the experience and what I have seen about politics made me believe that politics is a dirty game, however it might have it's good side, but I haven't experienced the good side of it, though I have some friends who will always say good things about politics, but reverse is the case for me.

My engagement in politics

Just like I said initially, the people around us can influence our political beliefs. I have always stayed with people who don't have an interest in politics, they believe that every one of them is the same thing, they will always deceive people to get to the top and When I grew up, I had no interest in politics, I grew up to hate everything about politics due to how they play the game in my country.

However, I was pushed to be involved in politics once in school, though I wasn't the one going for the position, I had to join in the campaign because the person was my coursemate, and I could say that was my first involvement in the school political campaign. Well I find it stressful and at the end of everything, they might end up losing in the game, I don't think it's something I can put my energy into, however, church leadership is exceptional for me. lol

What if I had the opportunity to become a politician?

Well, everyone has something they are good with, even if I was granted a free opportunity to involve myself in politics, I'm not going to take the chance as far as my country is concerned, my thoughts will be different from theirs and even if I want to be different, the people around me will be a thorn in my flesh, and "if you can't beat them, you'll have to join them" I don't want to be like the people I despise.

I know you might be thinking, if I don't want to get involved in politics, how then will I change the deteriorated system? Well, change is not always easy, especially when the people around you are not ready for change. The majority of people around me used to say that if they had the opportunity to be in the top seat, they'd also follow the same step, trying to change it gonna be stressful for me... that's my honest perception.

politics in my country is like business, they only want to become a leader for their selfish interests, and they don't care about the wellness of the people they are leading once they get to the top seat. There are good people among them, but the rotten egg have spoilt the good one's. I have always wanted a situation where the leader will see the follower as their priority, they should not have the mindset that they are going into politics to embezzle the country's funds, when they have that mindset, they'll do better in meeting the needs of their followers and there will be a great development in the society, but unfortunately, it the other way around, though, I've always wished for a change.
