When Boredom Pushed Me.
Boredom! Well, I think it's time to share this. It happens to be something I can never forget. Well, it happened like every other day, just that this particular day my mum had went out for an event snd my dad went out too, I was the only one at home, I couldn't think of anything to do. I searched the house for some books/novels to read, I found out I've read them all. There's light, but then our TVs faulty.

I was almost dozing off when my dad rushed in, dropping a big box/carton, removed a big TV from it, plugged it, it came in, then he unplugged it and returned it back into the carton and rushed out back. I looked at it with that sleepy eyes of mine and saw that it was a TV, I was still booting. Suddenly, as if I was just realizing what it was, I stood up quickly and moved near. Wow, it's a new plasma TV. But then, curiosity mixed with boredom got the best part of me and sleep was nowhere to be found again.
I didn't know where my dad rushed back to, but I was sure he won't return anytime soon. I actually didn't want to go far, I just wanted to check what product it was, admire it and all. But after few minutes, I already had screwdriver on my hand. Before you could say Jack, the back casing of the TV has already been dealt with. I had revealed everything that was inside of it, I checked the wire connections, I was just touching everywhere checking tonsee how it was made and how those wires were passed. You would think I was an expert. Well, what I never knew was that trouble was already waiting for me.
After I satisfied my curiosity, I tried fixing it back, but it gave me a hard time. I couldn't fix it the way it was, so I just do it the best way I can and leave it there, I was praying one of my older siblings will arrive in time, touch it and it will just, you know, go down. But nobody came. After about an hour, somebody returned, my dad. It was already late by then, as I could barely make out his face in the darkness. I greeted him as he put on the light. His gaze went straight to the TV he dropped, it was obvious he knew something had happened, that was not how he left it, the carton wasn't that tattered too. He looked at me, looked at the carton and then moved near.
He removed the TV and one of thbscre fell off, I was already shivering were I was. He moved closer and asked me what I did, with shaky voice I confessed, I tried explaining things to him but words fail me. Even I couldn't make sense out of what I was blabbing out. He plugged the TV, out it on and guess what, the TV refused to work. Not a single sound, not a single dim light, nothing at all. I was already shivering and sweating. After he had tried and it wasn't working, he dropped it and ask me to go on my knees.

The beatings that followed it was🤦, I should have allowed that boredom pushed me to sleep, instead of allowing it breeed curiosity in me and mad eme act foolishly. I begged him, cried and even promised never to touch anything in the house again. But then, the deeds have already been done and the lessons are well learnt too.
Ever since then, I've been doing things differently anytime I'm bored. I either write, read, cook, dance, watch movies, play games, stroll out or just find something to do, something that won't put me in trouble. Boredom doesn't have to turn me into a reckless and foolish being. I can do better even though I'm bored. So, that was how I learnt my lessons the hard way.
