The Funny Narration Nation.

Well, I kinda love this topic and I don't know why, maybe because as Nigerians we've learnt to survive anything thrown at us or maybe because we are the type that are never serious with anything, we tend to turn anything and everything into fun and "catch cruise" with it.

When we began hearing of the new tax rule and all, we actually didn't think much about it, even though some came up to say we will definitely fight it and protest against it, and their reason is something I definitely agree with, the new tax law will in no way favour us the citizens, it's just another of the many agendas of the government to milk it's citizens.

And today, even I had been on including remark and narrations in my transactions long before the tax rule came up. Today, we find a lot of people double checking before making any transactions. Some will even tell you to say bye bye to your money if you send to them without adding certain narration to it. And to be honest, all this narration and remark of a thing is something we do not really pay much attention to before.

But now, since the introduction of the tax rule, we begin to see different narrations, some would write narrations as if they were about to write or summarize a story, and all of those things are done in a bid to dodge tax from theit accounts. Aside that, most Nigerians ah e now turn this remark of a thing into something else, and am sure even the government would just look at us and smile saying, "these people are never serious."

Just last week, u saw a ban narration posted on a friends Whatsapp status, and it says, "Money for abort!on, Tinubu abeg no touch am." Please, tell me how that sounds, very funny right... I saw one the other day too and it says, "Tinubu, na my school fees, let's be guided o." Just imagine what the citizens of this great country are turning this thing into. I know we are a very creative and funny set of people, but must we joke with every single thing.

I'm actually not blaming us for trying to create fun out of all these things, and the reason is that, considering all of the things we are facing and going through, it's either we allow it get at us or we wave it off. If we allow it get at us, we will definitely break down and have heart attack, if we decide to wave it off, we will keep on striving to survive. Also, considering what we are facing, we only have two options, one is either allow it overwhelm us and cry our eyes out, or we create fun out of it and laugh it off. And as Nigerians we've choosed the latter because if we don't laugh we will definitely cry. It is too much for us to handle.

Talking of the tax rules, I read some news the other day when one of this government officials was saying that our narrations do not really matter. In short, it's just so obvious that this government people that set up such a thing definitely knows how to go about tracking our money, so the narrations at the end of the day might be meaningless. Come to think of it, no one would actually want to make it known that the money coming in to their account is income, money keeps going in and out and none of it was tagged income, common how are you really surviving, what is really going on...this government knows exactly what they are doing.

I'm actually not against tax, most of the countries we look up to and admire today thrive well on it. We know that a nation actually needs to keep going, but in a country like ours where corruption and embezzlement are the daily routines of our government, where billions of naira goes missing and nothing is been done about it, where one of the many government agencies was said to have mismanaged or lost a huge amount of money enough to pay all the loans Nigeria owes and still have some remaining. How do we trust a government like that, why do you think we will believe that this tax rule will favour us or that whatever will be deducted be used well. But as Nigerians, we are laughing it off, as it seems to be the best coping mechanism, at least if not for anything, for our mental health

Sometimes the citizens no longer care about anything that's why many of the new policies don't bother them any longer

The funny thing is that they won't put the tax into good use.most will still be for personal interest

I am not against tax but seriously, I don't think the idea of tax in Nigeria is a wise idea. People are still struggling to survive, there are no jobs and the government are not doing something reasonable about it, how do they expect the people to cope?

Well, when it comes to crazy narration, I expected that. Nigerians are fond of using everything as joke, I know it's not bad but I think sometimes we need to know our limits

Definitely, I'm not against it too. I'm just against it in a country where our money, revenues and all are not being used for what's supposed to be used for.

You know how we take be naw, Nigerians and turning everything to fun

It is well though.

In a country that the economy is not okay, tax mandatory will worsen the case...
