Success: Making Impacts And Not Just Building Wealth.

Well, I have come to realize that success doesn't really mean all those bright moments when/where cameras are flashing. To me, that which you were able to do, achieve, those moments you could have given up but didn't, those things you do when no one is really watching, those times you feel like giving up, but you kept going, those sacrifices you've madr, those failures you've experienced...and all those things that has happened, yet, you rise again......that's success, that's becoming.

Have not been around for long, but have been around for a while, believe me when I tell you I have had my fair share of setbacks, think of anything....healthwise, education, business..I have had it all. I’ve been knocked down, I've been sick, I've been left questioning if I was on the right path, I've been left wondering if I was going to survive......

But the thing is, every time I fell, even though I don't know how, I always find strength to get back up. So, I've come to realize that success isn’t just about talent or luck, it's also that different kind of grit, one that refuses to quit or give up.....I would say a lot of Nigerians are succeeding, in as much as they get to by pass each day....I know you can relate.

It wasn't easy for me as I didn’t come from a wealthy family, nor do I have a mentor that can guide me. I learned the hard way, I made mistakes, I face life, I faced tough situations, I faced rejections, encountered competitions and all, but the more I hear no the more stronger I become. I saw that success isn’t in avoiding failure, but its in failing forward, every mistake, failure, misstep, debt, surgery and all taught and shaped me.

Also, to succeed you need someone/people, a tree does not make a forest. Success comes from the people around you. The world, or let me say the country I live in would make you feel like everyone is fighting their own battles, they make you believe its all on you to succeed, that you have to do it all alone, but no one gets anywhere on their own, we all need a support system, maybe a friend, a family, a partner.....these are the people who make hard days easy and good days more meaningful.

Also, ones perspective matters, aside having much and being recognized, you should also be doing or building something that really matter...I mean something that adds to the lives of people, contributing to the community, advocating helping people the little way you can, providing certain needed service, speaking up.......that's true success, making impact and making life a little better for someone else.

Though, It’s easy to feel discouraged when things aren’t happening the way we want, and things seems to be slow... That's it about success, it doesn't just happen suddenly, it doesn't happen overnight, those small choices we make, those little efforts and all add up to help create/bring about something significant.

Like we all know, success is not a destination, it’s a journey.....the lessons we learn, the risings, the people we meet, the growth we experience and all. And I believe we will all succeed, just make sure not to ever give up, keep on going, keep on showing up, the best is definitely the next. And so, here I am today, not there yet, but still a work in progress, striving and thriving.
