My Parents Are My Favorite: Why I Can't Choose Between Them.

Who my favorite person is, is a question I will never hesitate to answer, my favorite person is not a celebrity, not a mentor, not even my closest friend. My favorite person is my parents. The both of them are one and I can’t separate them,.I believe the topic ask for just one person, but I don’t know how to pick one over the other, because their love, their presence, their sacrifices have always shown up as a one. My mum and dad are my favorite person.

I grew up watching them, not like a movie, but in reality, I watch their struggles, laughter, misunderstandings, prayers, patience, discipline, long talks, and soft silences. My mum is that kind of woman who pray through the night for her family, holding back tears when things got tough and rough. She’s soft, but when she talks....My dad's not the loud type either, but his silence speaks volumes. The kind of man whose presence calms and bring peace, he's a man of great strength, it shows in the way he carries responsibilities like they’re light and doesn't weigh him down.

Both of them are not perfect, but together they are powerful. God omdwed put them togetheras one, there are times they disagree and you still see them do certain things, they go through storms. From them, I learnt that love is not in words but in actions, that love doesn't need to be loud, that love stays, that love is being present, that love is staying honest and faithful despite whatever and that love is being kind.

My parent is my favorite person, as they are my safest place. I can come back bruised from life, confused, stigmatized, down even ashamed, but with them/ in their presence, I remember who I am. They don’t pressure me to be someone else. They just remind me, speak to me, pray for me, and sincerely even I know I am deeply loved. My mum and dad gives the warmest hugs, they give the best advice, and they can pray... Not as if I was being pampered, but even if I was being corrected I know its for my own sake.

And, it's not about what they give me. It’s who they are when nobody’s watching. It’s the little things, those little things matters. My dad and mum joke as if they were still in their teen age, though they never had much, but they always have enough for us.

In a world where everyone is just busy chasing clout, being dramatic, chasing the bag(money) and all, my parents are my calm. They remind me that goodness, kindness and love still exist, that love can be so simple yet very strong, and that family, when done right and groomed well can be the biggest blessing.

I am not jusy saying it, I mean it when I say my parents are my favorite person. They are the nest example of love, kindness, care and all to me. I carry them with me wherever I go. I pray, someday, I’ll become half the kind of person they’ve been to me.
