Home Away From Home: The Neoxian City.

Looking for a virtual city like home. Finding somewhere where you are seen, appreciated, and valued. Then you have it here at Neoxian City, it feels as if I'm home, you know, when you say home away from home? Yeah, that's exactly where this is. I've joined this wonderful city for some months now.

Guess who invited me here🤔, the great grandpa himself, @vickoly 🫡 🫡. Yeah, he's an amazing brother, mentor, and friend, believe me. Even though I know I might be a little off at times, he kept putting up with me. @merit.ahama was curious about who my mentor was some weeks ago, but here you have it. When I first heard people call him Grandpa, I was like, as how naw, But guess what? I now call him that too, even though I can't say what brought about that name.

Like I said earlier, I joined sometime last year, but I never made it to become a bonafide citizen; @vickoly kept challenging and pestering me too. He guy tried, I won't lie. Well, well, later I got to understand and know why he wanted me to, because now, I can't even think of a day without me hearing from my family on here. I don't hold a role in the city. But trust me, I carry my orange color with honor. Want to know how to come about that. Well, you have to join the Neoxian Discord channel, be a student, take your time to read the rules, pass the question being asked, and you are good to go and make your way to level up until your color changes. It wasn't an easy task going, I must tell you; my big sister @soma18 can definitely testify to that.

Today, I can boldly say my heart has found its place here in the city. No matter how busy life gets, the city is one place that draws me back. It isn't easy balancing work and personal growth, but here I had found so much support that I didn't expect. There are times I look at the City Teacher @justfavor and wonder how he is able to put up with all of these, he's always there to correct with love, he's always there to put you through and all.

Talking about friendships, I've been able to form priceless ones. Here, I have a mother figure, @hopestylist. What a wonderful person she is; she knows me as a loyalist, and she won't deny that. I would have said she won't dare deny that, but that might sound 😁😁😁. Also, I now have a big sis, @soma18, and even though she's stingy and can eat anything, she's been wonderful. Countless times I have to go to sleep with an empty stomach because she's eaten all the food. Talking about our grandma too, @nkemakonam89, I call her Grandmama. What a wonderful woman. I don't know how she had Grandpapa @vickoly become, but then they are an amazing pair. Let's talk about my momma, the one mother figure will always leave the bills for @afrikens, woman of talent; she can draw, enh🤦. I don't know how to hype people; I would have😁😁. I have a namesake here too, @dhavey, the only citizen known to be truthful. I hope you get what I mean😁.

Talking of @princessbusayo, my state mate, the likes of @mikechrist, @mathewdaddywah, @chefqueen, @oluwadrey and the always hungry city Editor @klvn-rex. I'm sorry if I didn't mention everyone, but everybody is seen and valued. I trust you won't hold any grudge against me. You all are the reason the city is alive, going, and beautiful. You are loved and cherished.

I enjoy every discussion in the city and the monthly contest-The neoxianprompts. Even when I wasn't a member of the community, I would participate in the monthly prompts, and I've always read the amazing entries while wishing to really meet/know the brains behind all those entries. Also, when I got to know there's a city clinic, it gladdened my heart to know that even in a virtual world there's a space that cares for you.

I would also love to chop this in, let's call it an idea, and I think now's the best time to, you know, let it out. I would want to suggest one. A recognition/appreciation program. Just a way of celebrating members who always contribute, participate, and are always active. It could be done weekly, monthly, or even quarterly. It wouldn't just be about the contest winners but also about those who are being supportive, creative, and all in the community.

Another idea is to encourage citizens to support/engage with at least one post in the “Promotions” channel, maybe every day. They don't need to add it to their post or announce it, but at least support, comment, upvote, or even reblog. That would help us all grow together; it is us helping ourselves to build connections and more visibility. There's the saying that says, We rise by lifting others. I think we should practice it; even though it may look like it, it would definitely help.

And about memories, there are a lot of small and big ones. I won't forget the first time I win a giveaway. Come and see me disturbing Grandpapa because I don't want to make a mistake. Also, the day a fellow citizen clicked on a giveaway he's not supposed to and had to go all the way back to start leveling up again.

A very disciplined community, here they don't joke with rules. Another thing I love about this wonderful community is the fact that we help each other in big and little ways. I know how everybody helped me chat my way to level up and how I've also been able to help somebody too. That's something I can't seem to comprehend, every login here is worthwhile.

Now, to the Great Dragon himself, I am writing this with all of my heart. Thank you for building such an amazing city. A community that's about connection, growth, love, relationships, and all. I can boldly say that Neoxian has made my experience on Hive richer and more engaging. Neoxian had shown me that even virtual cities/online communities can be real and life-changing. Thanks, Mr. D.

If you are reading this and you are not yet a part of this wonderful community. Kindly have a rethink; it's worth it. I can attest to and vouch for this great city. You make friends, you connect, you grow, you get mentored, you smile, and all. There's never a dull moment in the city.

So, here’s to the Dragon, jobbers, mentors, citizens, the mentors and everyone, including all of the moments that has added up together to make the City unforgettable. May this wonderful city continue to grow.
