Breaking The Silence.

I love this topic, as it is one a lot of people find hard to talk about. Especially in my part of the world, depression is something that makes others see you in a different light. They start seeing you as an ungrateful person, saying you should at least thank God for life and all of that. So, most of us just keep quiet about it, we smile on the outside and keep doing what we do, whereas we are breaking down in there.

And that is because none of us wants to be seen differently ot misjudged. I personally understand this things to some extent. It's something I've lived. I actually have a time in my life where I had to withdraw from every single thing, I mean I disconnected form everything, from family, to friends and even from myself. It wasn't an easy time for me at all. You can imagine how important and all or phone is to us as it is, but at that time of my life, I might not touch my phone for a whole day, imagine you having a battery that stays between 80-100% in a week, not because you're charging it, but because you're not using it at all. The only thing I do use it for then is either to look at some pictures as ND bring back certain memories or listen to music. That's all.

It was a dangerous time, and the depression keeps on growing while various thoughts begin to fill my head too. But I'm glad I passed through that phase and came out strong. And I will advise that anyone going through a depressing situation should try and speak up, it's not easy, but I can summon courage. Talk to someone about it. We as well should learn to listen to people, we should allow people seek for help freely and we shouldn't judge them.

I'm not saying talking or speaking up will take away or solve the issue instantly, but at least it will go a long way in helping to heal. But then, let's not dismiss or mock people, because people at that stage/phase needs to be reminded that they are not alone.

Speaking out, and not being alone are the only way I also feel can make one pass the depression stage, it is not easy out there.

Exactly even though talking about it won't make it disappear like some magic ward but at the very least it kicks off the journey towards getting better.
If only Mirabel had opened to people close to her about her mental state maybe she wouldn't have taken "Sniper". Thank God she survived it though( don't mind me for messing around 🤣🤣🤣)

Humm, yesoo, people keep wearing that fake smile and covering up our pains with our beautiful clothes.

Huh, depression can happen to anyone. I'm happy you were able to device a strategy that worked for you and get you out of that stage.

Thank you for sharing.
