Born From Experience: My Simple Business Dream. LOH #272

I love this topic.
First off, I will like to note that I have always been a lover of business. Now, I have two businesses I will love to run together even though they are different. And both of them come from what I've not just seen or heard, but firm what I have lived and experienced.

The very first business is foodstuffs and provision business. A lot of people see it as being a woman's business, but it's top of the list for me, any day any time. I remember telling a friend of mine sometimes ago and he was looking at me somehow as if I don't know what I am saying. But I love it, right from while I was growing up I have had the opportunity of doing one thing or the other, from helping my mum hawk for some years, then to when she finally got a shop, I do help her stay there as well and even help her go to the market and restock again. And believe me, I know how prices tend to go up and down, I know what moves and sells fast at a certain time, I know people will always eat so they will always buyand I as well know how tiring it can be.

So, if resources were not a problem, I would open a foodstuffs and provision shop, and I even have the best location that I want, and it's around a student area, around a higher institution. That location is enough for me, because students will always buy foods, toiletries, noodles, oil, biscuits, and all of that, some may argue that what if students were to be on vacation and the likes, that doesn't mean business will stop. I was once a student too and I know people doing that sort of business, a student area can never go scanty. Either school is on or not, even though there will be differences.

Now, the second business would be graphics and frame making business. I began learning it sometimes ago, and I've come to love it. I now do certain frma designs and such. But I don't have the machines for it, I always go to another person's shop to make frames for customers, and I can't deny how good and beautiful it is for one to own his/her own tools in business. Each time I go out to work, I always wish and pray for a day when I will learn about it more and have my own space and machine.

And believe me, if money wasn't an issue, I would have had it all sorted out. I already know all the machines needed, I would have gotten it and as well get a space of mine where I can start working and making various designs of frames, name frames, certificates, souvenirs, awards, jotters and all. Also, if money wasn't an issue I would have also paid to learn more as I can't deny there are things I'm seeing online and don't know the way around it.

While still in school, there was this woman I was very close with, she sells foodstuffs too, and because of what I have been doing at home, I got close to her real quick and would always help her stay in shop, she gave birth around that time, and I would be the one to help her back he child so she could have some time to rest while also helping her attend to customers, about a year later, this woman opened another shop just right beside the first one, and there she sells the likes of bulbs, fans, extensions, chargers and various electronics. Those things together with the foodstuffs she sells are things students will always buy, and they always finish fast, because students will always need to get them..

So, aside from that which I have learnt from home, I also learn from her that business tends to grow and expand more when you understand people's needs, when you know your target audience. So, my dream is to begin with foodstuffs and then with time, include the frame business as well. And even if it is possible, I can run both at once, people, including students will always buy foodstuffs and provisions and they will always gift their loved one's with items like frames and the likes.

So, if money, skills, resources and all weren't a problem, it won't be in my imagination now, it would have been my reality. So, I have the idea, I have my target audience, I know what I'm going into, I've had the experience too and it's something I love and have passion for, but as it is, the chance to start properly is the problem which all sums up back to money. But I'm working towards it, and I believe I will achieve it.
