My first salary collection

Greetings!

To forget how we earn our first salary or pocket money might be sometimes difficult for us and this is because of the first attached to it. Whenever we talk about the first in our lives, there's always an attachment to it which cannot be altered or even forgotten easily.

Having said this, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt proper which is all about, “My first earning/pocket money story.”

One thing I would not forget in a haste is the story that surrounded my first earning. Few years ago, when I was looking for a job, I found one and the one I found was a teaching job, a government job for that matter.

When we got the job, we were not told the amount to be paid to us as salary, but even at that, our expectations as the newly employed teacher by the state government under the teaching service were high. In fact, some of us have promised our family and friends heaven on earth that whenever we get our first pay, we would do them well.

However, our first pay would not come after three months due to the policy of the government in which the newly appointed government officials would be on probation for the first three months after being employed and would not receive any salary until the third month.

After the third month, we got paid, and instead of the government to pay us for the three months we had worked for them, we were paid just for two out of the three months and what we received as an alert kn our phones was not what we expected, it's so meager that we could not achieve what we had promised our people.

When my own people started asking me about my promises to them, I could not but tell them to exercise patience with me as I would do it for them later in the future as the salary paid to me was nothing to write home about and this was because it could not even sustain me personally not to talk of looking after the others. This was thr era before the minimum wage increment in my country.

However, because of the job security and the nature of the job which is all about impacting knowledge, I stayed in the job, but look for a way out which was by finding another source of income to the job and this really helped me greatly to over the story of my first salary after the subsequent ones were paid to me.
