Un saludo, mis queridos amigos.
Llegó el día de dar a conocer los resultados de esta Iniciativa # 1.

Para comenzar diré, que estoy feliz, satisfecha y agradecida con los resultados, pues no esperaba la acogida que mostraron ustedes, la participación alcanzada superó mis expectativas.

Quiero agradecer a todos los que votaron y comentaron y muy en especial a los 18 participantes por sus excelentes publicaciones.

Brindaron contenidos muy variados y de calidad, resultando bien difícil a la hora de elegir el post más completo.

Un solo post será premiado por nosotros, pero créanme, que siento pena por no poder premiar a más porque así son los concursos.

En el post anterior les hablé de "La Puerta de Esquina", en las viviendas rurales tradicionales en Cuba y que tenían, entre otro dos usos fundamentales, en aquella ocasión le hable de uno y hoy termino de contar,
lo que deje pendiente aquí les va.
Según me contaron a mi, los domingos, era costumbre en el campo, dónde las casas estaban distantes unas de otras, los jóvenes pretendientes, del género masculino, en el horario comprendido de 2:00 pm a 5:00 pm , podían presentarse en las casas de muchachas en edad de matrimonio, por supuesto solteras y sin compromiso, llegar y pedir autorización a los padres para cortejarlas.
No les hablo de los matrimonios impuestos o arreglados por la familia en esos la puerta de esquina no era funcional, hablo de los que se concedía a las muchachas cierta libertad de decisión, sobre si querían ser cortejadas o no por el aspirante.

Ahí empezaba el protagonismo de la puerta, la o las muchachas debidamente asicaladas, debían permanecer en el cuarto esperando la comunicación de la madre, está iba y le decía los pormenores de la petición, entonces la joven con mucha discreción salía por la puerta de esquina a observar a cierta distancia los encantos del solicitante y por allí mismo regresaba a dar respuesta a la madre si aceptaba o no ir a conversar.
De ser positiva su decisión entonces salía por la puerta principal a la sala a escuchar la propuesta.

A mis abuelos se les dió el caso de tener las tres hijas en edad casarmenteras al unísono.
Un día les llegaron tres pretendientes y se sintieron afortunados pues sus tres hijas tendrían presuntos esposos.
¡Cuál no sería su sorpresa al comprobar que los tres, pretendían a la misma muchacha!

In the previous post, I told you about "The Corner Door," a traditional rural dwelling in Cuba that had, among other things, two fundamental uses. I told you about one of them at that time, and I'll finish telling you about it today.

According to what I was told, on Sundays, it was customary in the countryside, where houses were far apart, for young male suitors, between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, to show up at the homes of girls of marriageable age—single and unattached, of course—to ask their parents' permission to court them.

This is where the door's importance began. The girl or girls, properly groomed, had to remain in the room waiting for their mother's message. She would go and tell her the details of the request. Then, the young woman discreetly left through the corner door to observe the suitor's charms from a distance, and then return through there to inform her mother whether or not she agreed to go and talk.
If her decision was positive, she would then leave through the main door to the living room to listen to the proposal.

My grandparents had three daughters of marriageable age at the same time.
One day, three suitors came to them, and they felt fortunate because all three of their daughters would have prospective husbands.
How surprised they were to discover that all three were after the same girl!
