Living frugal - The happiness that comes with saving
Hello hive community, I hope all of you had a wonderful day. It it currently 9:19 evening here in the Philippines and I am feeling motivated to create a blog.
My blog for tonight is all about my ways of living frugally, the things I do to save money.
My friends always say that I am so cheap when it comes to expenses, and yes I am. I take pride on my lifestyle, just because it looks normal or boring does not mean its not fun. It is all in the MINDSET.
I give myself a budget of 1000 php (17 usd) every week, that includes groceries and laundry. I know it may seem impossible but it actually is not. (and sometimes i even have 200 to 300 php left after the week).
Here is what I eat everyday. I don't really eat breakfast, i only drink coffee. It keeps my mind active when i am feeling hungry and the coffee gives me energy to be productive.
I already have my meals pre-cooked for the entire week and I just refrigerate them. I would buy eggs and hotdogs. In the morning i will reheat them before going to work and that is what I will eat for the whole week.
I also pre cook my dinner. My dinner will consist of something light, I usually go for 2 bananas and tofu. As you can see it is very cheap but it does give fill my stomach and i dont feel hungry.
1000 php, Budget for the whole week
Expenses as of Sept, 11 2023
Tofu and Banana SUPREMACY!!! for dinner hahahaha
Overall, for the entire day, I'd say i will spend around 1 to 1.5 dollars. It's is just an estimate since i buy my foods in bulk.
It does taste bland i agree. but I happen to like it, enjoyment is something that you like doing and for me, saving money is enjoyable. I find happiness whenever i see that i have saved a ton of money that will help me in the future. (Plus what i am eating now is much more healthy compared before.)
The road to financial freedom isn't easy, sacrifices has to be made.
Thank you guys for reading.

At least you're getting your protein and potassium. Saving is not as easy in Canada with the high cost of living here but it is possible if sensible spending and having a side gig is practiced over the years.
