May Christmas Bring Ceramic Mugs || #TCSP 92
Hey, coffee lovers!
May Christmas bring ceramic cups for us in the cafés and take away all the plastic. That'd be a nice Christmas gift for us coffee lovers.
😘
I hope you've all started the week off on the right foot ☕️ Mine started terrifically because I had time to go for coffee with my sister. This never happens on a Monday, so that's a plus. Besides, I've been able to meet you here today at #tcsp #92 😎
I usually drink my coffee at home, but you might see me going out for coffee with a friend once or twice a month. It's different when Christmas is coming; during the holiday season, coffees attracts me like a magnet...
I might stop in a nice cafe and have an espresso even if I'm alone. And if I'm hungry, I'm likely to go for a latte and a croissant or some pastries and sin to my heart's content 😁 Will I regret it later? But of course! 😏 Today we stopped at La Caribeña in Puerto La Cruz because my sister missed their coffee; I understood her urge when I tried it. Oh, it was good! The croissant, not so much. I ate it all, I did, but only because I was starving. It was almost 12 noon and I had eaten really little and early for breakfast.
The croissant was a bit chewy, not very fresh, and a bit greasy. And yes, I ate it. What can I say, I even dunked it in the delicious latte 🙈
Well, I actually ate half a croissant because we ordered one for the two of us.
They had small, medium, and big 👇
We ordered big.
I'm all for coffee when Christmas is coming. At home, I get creative with spices. One day I might add cinnamon or cardamom to my black coffee, even a little cane honey or chocolate. But since spiced coffees aren't something you're going to find in coffee shops around, I indulge my festive side with a latte or a mocaccino. It was a latte this time, and what a delicious latte: intense aroma of coffee, super creamy, fresh and light.
The discordant note was the coating inside these paper cups (polyethylene plastic), of which more and more worrying details are being discovered regarding their impact on the health of us consumers in the case of hot beverages, especially, and the polluting environmental impact when they're later recycled. The truth is that, lately, it's been difficult for me to enjoy food and beverages due to so many alarming discoveries that tell us that big industry doesn't give a f*$@ about our quality of life and longevity. Too bad.
I'd love to come back for more coffee, but I hope they have ceramic cups available when I do.
Another precaution I will take besides asking for my coffee to be served in a ceramic cup is to ask if the pastries are fresh before ordering; as you can see, there's a pretty decent variety and several of their products may catch your eye.
I believe that the festive spirit of Christmas, as well as that of other seasons associated with celebration and time off to share with our loved ones, makes us go for what we love. And I happen to love coffee--and the good company that usually comes with it 💯
I also rarely go out to coffee shops, I like coffee at home much better, although it's not bad to go out once in a while to try something different. How sad that the croissants were a bit greasy :(. I love fresh cake when I drink coffee, but I usually drink it with cookies or by itself.
Christmas and coffee is a good combination! Best regards!
Coffee at home is more relaxed, I think. In my case, I value that I take my shoes off while sipping my cup of hot coffee--which sometimes I may refill, hehe.
Thank you so much for dropping by, @soldierofdreams 😁 Have a wonderful day ☕️
Thank you so much for dropping by, @cinnccf, and for all the support ☕️❤️
It's our pleasure.
Have a nice day:)
Haha, I like your sense of humour, you sinner. 😅
I'm a lover of coffee as well, but I haven't tried all the many flavours and types available abroad. Not many are readily obtainable around my abode. I'm looking forward to trying them during my travels next year, though.
Nice one. 🌻
I'm glad your sisters company made up for the not-so-great baked goods... I've never met a croissant I don't like, but I gotta say this one sounded 🤢 awful! Greasy and still stale tasting too?! Bleck.
The disposable cup news keeps coming across my news feed as well these days... It's crazy how many profitable things slip through the cracks so money can flow, all while the real cost of these things lands on the consumer and the earth we walk. Hopefully ceramic gains more popularity in shops!
Despite these things, your holiday spirit is infectious! I'm a big fan of a spiced coffee too. I've been in Jordan the last 2 months and cardamon in coffee is nearly standard around here, but I'd never had it before that. Def a fan of the unique flavor it gives! Sending you holiday hugs and positive experience pastry vibes 💚
Even though that croissant wasn't any good, I ate it up, hehe; usually, I'm not like that, but I was starving. Good croissants don't just happen over here. I miss those ones I tried once at a French restaurant in my hometown (Les Jardins du Sucre). They're closed and the owners, the chef and his wife, are probably back in France. Good quality products are harder to find these days, which includes healthier products, which includes disposable cups. And if you find some that meet the criteria, they are usually so expensive that most consumers can't afford them--which includes me 😂😂😂😅😪
I hope that soon they, the big industry and unscrupulous governments, get tired of ruining our lives and empty our pockets to kill us later.
Always love your visit 💓
Have a great day, awesome @grindan ☕
When we go out for coffee somewhere we always have two possibilities: to have a good experience or a bad one. I see that in your case it was not as pleasant as you would have liked.
It is true that nowadays people's health is not as important as selling unhealthy products. It is up to us to take care of ourselves as much as possible.🙄
Thanks for sharing your experience with us.☕
Excellent day.
Oh, that ugly croissant couldn't spoil the moment. We had a good time; the latte was delicious. But you're right, our health doesn't seem to be so dear anymore. I don't want to use those cups ever again, but we will see about that... They're everywhere at least in this country.
Thank you so much for dropping by, dear @rinconpoetico7 ☕ Have a lovely day!
Saludos bella
