Halfway between a smoothie and a slushie. Banana-yogurt shake :p
Hey, all you lovers of #amaizingdrinks!
I hope you're having a nice week π I want to share with you what at home I call a banana smoothie, plainly, but there's a bit more to it--or a but less.

I'm a coffee person, so you won't see me drinking juice or soda or else. Very rarely. But the weather is--ah!--too hot! So I AM in the mood for cold drinks.
But I have a weakness for yogurt smoothies,
which I usually drink to replace a meal rather than accompany it.
Here's the recipe for the smoothie I make most often at home, maybe a couple of times a month: banana and yogurt with chocolate chips.
This drink varies from ice cream to slushie,
depending on how I prepare it every time.
This time it was half way between a smoothie and a slushie because I added less yogurt and some ice cubes when I was processing it in the blender.
When I want it to be ice cream, I only add frozen yogurt and frozen banana--and if I want it creamier, I add cococnut cream or whipping cream. Easy, isn't it?
INGREDIENTS
What I used this time for 3 servings (about 600 ml):
3 medium size bananas, 2 to blend and 1 to slice
400 ml yogurt (I used homemade with whole cow's milk)
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
a few ice cubes
a handful of chocolate chips
I didn't add any piloncillo or sugar this time because the bananas were sweet and so were the chocolate chips.
THE PROCESS
As usual, I started the day before, haha. I put the yogurt in the fridge and the bananas in the freezer; I peel them, chop them into pieces for this.
The next day, I put the yogurt in the freezer a couple of hours before preparing the drink, but the truth is that the it requires at least about 6 hours of freezing if you want a smoothie that feels like a smoothie--that's super cold, creamy, without ice.
I put all the ingredients in the blender, except the ice cubes.
After a first go in the blender, I knew how much ice a needed to get the consistency I was looking for.
After a second go in the blender, I was ready to serve the "smoothies."

Some slices of banana and a few chocolate chips on top, and that was it.

As usual, I hope you found this post useful πβ€οΈ
Well, it looks like it's Yogurt Day, I've also added some to the drink I just posted... =)

One of the fruits I love combining with yogurt is guava, precisely β€οΈ I make jam with piloncillo.
