Jayanti river

If you have read some of my previous posts, you will know how much I like rivers. I want to go to the bank of the river when I am sad and I sit on the bank of the river even if I am happy.

Bangladesh is a riverine country. And Bangladesh has the most rivers in Barisal or southern region. Three sides of my village are surrounded by Arial Kha river and one side is surrounded by Jayanti river.

My mother's great aunt's house and my grandfather's village house are next to each other in the village, and this Jayanti river passes through my mother's great aunt's house.

Most of the time I was sitting on the bank of Jayanti river while visiting my mother's great aunt's house. It started getting mildly cold and it felt very peaceful to hear the sound of the river in such a mild cold environment. If I had the chance, I would have built a house on the bank of the river in such a village. In reality, it does not happen, the river bank breaks and it is not possible to stay in the village even for work.

Jayanti river located on three sides of Safipur union. About 1500 (one thousand five hundred) people of this union make a living by catching fish in this river in all seasons.

Jayanti river is the beauty of our union. We have to travel by river route as there is no good road connection to travel from our union to upazila, district and capital. So the river is very necessary for us.
