Una imagen que inmediatamente me llevó a la antigua calle el hambre de la ciudad de Maturín.
Es posible que en cada Cuidad de Venezuela exista una calle el hambre, donde se trabaja 24/7, Maturín no es la excepción, aquí tuvimos en pleno centro de la ciudad nuestra calle del hambre icono de la comida rápida de la ciudad con muchos puestos de comida rápida callejera con ventas de perro caliente, hamburguesas y pepitos, ubicados estrategicamente en la calle Sucre, donde podías desayunar, almorzar, cenar o en la madrugada después de una noche rumba.
Transitar por esa calle durante el día era toda una odisea ya que los puestos de comida ocupaban toda la acera y parte de la calle, también teníamos que lidiar con el edor de orina, era muy concurrida por transeúntes, es un sitio muy comercial, habían negocios importantes como Dorsay, el palacio del niño entre otros que afectaba su ingreso.

An image that immediately took me back to the old Hunger Street in the city of Maturín. It's possible that every city in Venezuela has a Hunger Street, where people work 24/7. Maturín is no exception. Here, right in the city center, we had our Hunger Street, an icon of the city's fast food scene, with many street food stalls selling hot dogs, hamburgers, and pepitos, strategically located on Sucre Street, where you could have breakfast, lunch, dinner, or in the early morning after a night of partying. Walking down that street during the day was an odyssey, as the food stalls occupied the entire sidewalk and part of the street. We also had to deal with the stench of urine. It was very busy with pedestrians. It's a very commercial area, with important businesses like Dorsay and the Children's Palace, among others, which affected their income.

Hace cinco años más o menos la calle del hambre desapareció del centro de Maturín, como parte del embelleciento de la cuidad fueron reubicados a una zona más apropiada diagonal a la plaza piar, un sitio más amplio, cómodo tipo estacionamiento, donde no causan molestias a los transeúntes ni afectan a los demás comerciantes.

About five years ago, Hunger Street disappeared from the center of Maturín. As part of the city's beautification, it was relocated to a more appropriate area diagonally across from Plaza Piar, a larger, convenient parking spot where it wouldn't inconvenience passersby or affect other merchants.

Por donde vivo que nada tiene que ver con el centro de Maturín también tenemos nuestra calle del hambre un tanto sofisticada, con muchos puestos de comida rápida pero que también incluyen helados, comida mexicana, empanadas, parrilla, y Shawarma, pizzas, pasar de noche por ahí es ver una feria constante muchos puestos de comidas y todos full de gente consumiendo, a veces paso y digo de donde sacan tanto dinero, claro también hay puesto que ofrecen oferta como una que vi de diez perros calientes y un refresco pequeño por 10$ o dos perros calientes por 1.5$ y donde hasta padel encontramos.

Where I live, which has nothing to do with the center of Maturín, we also have our somewhat sophisticated hunger street, with many fast food stands but which also include ice cream, Mexican food, empanadas, grills, and shawarma, pizzas, passing by there at night is to see a constant fair, many food stands and all full of people buying, sometimes I pass by and ask where they get so much money from, of course there are also stands that offer deals like one I saw of ten hot dogs and a small soda for $10 or two hot dogs for $1.50 and where we even found paddle tennis.
