Greetings, esteemed @Topfamily community! It's Throwback Thursday, and it's time to participate in the weekly contest created by our friend @lanzjoseg called TBT Contest: One Photo, One Story, One of Those Days.

Mi #tbt de esta semana es de un recuerdo que me comparte Google fotos, fotografía del día de las Madres del 2023, aquí estamos reunidas tres generaciones mi suegra, mi persona, mi hija Daliannys,, mi nieta Amaya junto a mi querida nuera María, un día de esos que fuimos a visitar y a festejar a mi suegra, mi familia completa, allí también compartí con mis cuñados, sobrinos y algunos vecinos que pasaron a saludarnos.

My #tbt this week is a memory shared with me by Google Photos, a photograph from Mother's Day 2023. Here we are, three generations gathered: my mother-in-law, myself, my daughter Daliannys, my granddaughter Amaya, along with my dear daughter-in-law Maria. It was one of those days when we went to visit and celebrate with my mother-in-law, my whole family. I also shared with my brothers-in-law, nephews, and some neighbors who stopped by to say hello.

Hicimos una sopa para compartir y pasar un día agradable y que mi suegra se sintiera acompañada y considerada, recibió muchos afectos y regalos, aun la foto no tiene dos años sin embargo la enfermedad mental de mi suegra a avanzado muy rápido en su deterioro progresivo cada día está más hundida en su mundo interno, en hacer las mismas preguntas una y otra vez, otras veces le da por mencionar cosas del pasado o como lo es llamar hermano o hermana a los hijos,, comparte con nosotros pero casi nunca puede seguir una conversación, parece una niña que hay que estar pendiente de sus movimientos porque puede hacer ruvieras.
El Arzhaimer es una enfermedad dura y cruel que nos desafía a la persona que lo padece, a la familia y a los cuidadores, tenemos que llenarnos de fuerza, paciencia, amor para tomar las cosas de la mejor manera, veo a mi suegra en ese estado y no dejo de darle gracias a Dios porque mis hijos vivieron buenos tiempos con ella, supo darles su atención y amor, en mi casa siempre están las puertas abiertas para recibirla, apoyarla y devolverle un poco de lo que ella nos dió .
Agradecida siempre por cada momento vivido.

We made soup to share and have a pleasant day so my mother-in-law would feel accompanied and cared for. She received a lot of affection and gifts. The photo isn't even two years old, but my mother-in-law's mental illness has progressed very rapidly; her deterioration is gradual. Every day she becomes more withdrawn into her inner world, asking the same questions over and over. Other times she brings up things from the past, like calling her children brother or sister. She spends time with us, but she can almost never follow a conversation. She seems like a child who needs constant attention because she can be unpredictable. Alzheimer's is a harsh and cruel disease that challenges the person who suffers from it, their family, and caregivers. We must be filled with strength, patience, and love to cope in the best way possible. I see my mother-in-law in this state and I never stop thanking God because my children had good times with her. She knew how to give them her attention and love. In my home, the doors are always open to welcome her, support her, and give back a little of what she gave us.
