The Metropolitan Cathedral of Barquisimeto [Eng/Esp]
A few blocks from my residence is an architectural work of great relevance for my city, Barquisimeto, Venezuela. I am talking about the Metropolitan Cathedral of Barquisimeto, which has its origins in colonial times, my father tells me.
Of this building, I can tell you that it is shaped like a flower, whose petals face downward and represent the four spaces or wings. It covers in extension almost a complete block, in the external area of this emblematic construction is located the bell tower at one end and the stations of the Stations of the Cross.
On the other side there is an artistic mosaic with a religious figure, it also has landscaping and parking. In the front part of the cathedral there is a huge space that has been destined for different uses. I remember that in previous years I received the new year with my family there, electric cars were rented for the children.
This place is also used today for school and university graduations. I am proud that Chino y Nacho recorded in the cathedral the video click of their song Ando en mi cabeza a todas horas.
It is important to note that every year on January 14, the Divina Pastora, patron saint of the state of Lara, is received and people come from all over, even from other countries. They enter the beautiful internal area of the church, which has stained glass windows with religious figures and a hanging Christ.
In short, this architectural and religious construction is the icon of the people of Lara and represents a tourist attraction in my city, worthy of admiration.

La Catedral Metropolitana de Barquisimeto.
A pocas cuadras de mi residencia se encuentra una obra arquitectónica de gran relevancia para mi ciudad, Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Les hablo de la Catedral Metropolitana de Barquisimeto, la cual tiene su origen en la época colonial, cuenta mi papá.
De esta edificación, les puedo decir que tiene forma es de flor, cuyos pétalos dan hacia abajo y representan los cuatro espacios o alas. Abarca en extensión casi una manzana completa, en el área externa de esta emblemática construcción se ubica el campanario en un extremo y las estaciones del Viacrucis.
Del otro lado hay un mosaico artístico con una figura religiosa, también tiene jardinería y estacionamiento. En la parte frontal de la catedral hay un enorme espacio que se ha destinado para diferentes usos. Recuerdo que años anteriores recibí el año nuevo con mi familia allí, se alquilaban carros eléctricos para los niños.
También se utiliza ese lugar en la actualidad para las graduaciones de la etapa escolar y universitaria. Me enorgullece que Chino y Nacho grabaron en la catedral el video clic de su canción Ando en mi cabeza a todas horas.
Es importante destacar que cada 14 de enero de cada año se recibe a la Divina Pastora, patrona del estado Lara, y viene gente de todas partes, incluso de otros países. Entran al área interna de la iglesia que es hermosa, tiene vitrales de figuras religiosas y un cristo colgado.
En definitiva, esta construcción arquitectónica y religiosa es el ícono de los larenses y representa un atractivo turístico en mi ciudad, digno de admirar.
