My trip to the countryside: A much-needed break [Eng/Esp]

Greetings community, I hope you are all well. I want to tell you about my absence here, which was to prepare for the trip to the countryside on 28 December to welcome in the New Year there, as we do every year.

I was busy packing my bags, preparing ham bread and hallacas to take with me. Everything was almost ready, and the only thing stopping me from leaving was my mum and my parrots. I tried to convince my mum, but she didn't want to travel, and I accepted her decision because the journey takes four hours and the wound on her right buttock hadn't completely healed.

So my mother agreed to take care of the parrots during those days. We all left the house; I even had to take the parrots to my mother's house and leave them there. During the trip to the countryside, there were Christmas decorations along the way, and dusk was approaching.

Once I was there in the village of Ojo de Agua, in the municipality of Urdaneta in Lara state, I was able to disconnect from the noise of the city. My mobile phone was out of service; the operator Movistar does not have access to that area, only Movilnet in certain places.

To communicate with Mum and Dad, I had to walk and rent Wi-Fi; those days were special, I was with my family surrounded by cujies, cardoons and goats.

Early in the morning, my brother-in-law goes out to milk the goats in the pen, separates the small goats from the large ones and lets them out to eat grass. In the afternoon, he goes to get them so they can return to their pen.

December 31st arrived; we usually have dinner outside the ranch, each family member says a few words and the food is blessed. My daughter threw her coloured lights into the air, shortly before 2026 arrived; the balloon of wishes was released and with it went my goals and wishes for my family and my country.

When midnight arrived, we wished each other a happy new year, hugged each other, and took a family photo. It is a different experience to be there, surrounded by human warmth, sincerity, and harmony.

I needed those days to rest; I had been under a lot of stress in the city due to my parents' illness. I was able to recharge my batteries and feel much better; seeing other places allowed me to take my mind off things.

It is good to take a holiday from time to time so that your body can function properly. Without further ado, I bid you farewell; see you soon in another post.

Saludos comunidad, espero estén muy bien,quiero contarles de mi ausencia acá, y fue para preparar el viaje al campo el 28 de diciembre para recibir el año nuevo allá, como todos los años.

Estaba full ocupada haciendo maletas, preparando el pan de jamón y las hallacas para llevar, ya todo casi listo, y lo que me impedía irme era mi mamá y mis loros. Hice mi intento para convencer a mi mamá, pero no quiso viajar y acepté su decisión, porque el viaje es de cuatro horas en camino y ella no tenía su herida cerrada en su glúteo derecho completamente.

Así que mi mamá se comprometió a cuidar a los loros esos días, de la casa salimos todos; hasta los loros tuve que llevarlos a la casa de mi mamá, y los dejé. Durante el recorrido al campo había decoraciones de navidad al paso y ya acercándose el atardecer.

Ya estando allá en el caserío Ojo de Agua, en el Municipio Urdaneta del estado Lara, pude desconectarme del ruido de la ciudad. Mi celular estaba fuera de servicio; la operadora Movistar no tiene acceso para esa zona, puro Movilnet y en ciertos lugares.

Para comunicarme con mamá y papá, tenía que caminar y alquilar el wifi; esos días fueron especiales, estaba con mi familia rodeada de cujies, cardones y chivos.

Desde muy temprano mi cuñado sale a ordeñar a los chivos al corral, separa a los chivos pequeños de los grandes y estos los suelta para que salgan a comer hierbas y en la tarde los busca para que regresen a su corral.

Llegó el 31 de diciembre; acostumbramos cenar afuera del rancho, cada familiar dice algunas palabras y se bendicen los alimentos. Mi hija lanzó sus luces de colores, cuando faltaba poco para que llegara el 2026; se lanzó el globo de los deseos y en él se fueron mis metas y mis deseos para mi familia y mi país.

Al llegar las 12:00 am, nos dimos el feliz año, nos abrazamos y nos tomamos la foto familiar. Es una experiencia diferente la que se vive allá, rodeada de calor humano, sinceridad y armonía.

Esos días los necesitaba para descansar; había tenido mucho estrés en la ciudad dada la enfermedad de mis padres. Pude recargar energías y sentirme mucho mejor; ver otros lugares me permitió distraer mi mente.

Es oportuno de vez en cuando tomar vacaciones para que el organismo funcione bien. Sin más que agregar, me despido; nos vemos pronto en otra publicación.
