Trabajar con personas que en su vida han posado frente a una cámara y que no se sienten del todo cómodas con sus cuerpos es todo un reto que pocos fotógrafos están dispuestos a asumir...
Y digo pocos porque a varios talleres de los que he asistido, un común que tienen muchos de los fotógrafos que trabajan con mujeres en sesiones fotográficas, es que si estas son un poco inseguras con su apariencia, peso, autoestima... Etc prefieren rechazarlas.
En parte no estoy muy de acuerdo con esa percepción, pues siento que la finalidad en Muchas ocasiones de que alguien se haga unas fotos, en especial las mujeres, es para rescatar un poco esa feminidad, para sentirse lindas, para disfrutar de una experiencia especial y además elevar un poco el autoestima. Y uno como fotógrafo cumple el papel de guiar al modelo y ayudarlo a romper el hielo, hasta que se logre sentir cómodo y lograr los mejores angulos y tomas. Claro, ésto requiere MUCHA PACIENCIA...
Sin embargo, también entiendo el punto de vista de ellos, porque hay personas que creen que el fotógrafo es cirujano. Las personas actualmente están acostumbradas a mucho filtro, a verse de una manera que no son. Y la cámara no hace esos milagros, ella te va a retratar tal cual eres. Sin más ni menos... Y si me ha tocado lidiar con personas a las que, al entregar el material quieren una reconstrucción de cuerpo completa, con lipo, busto, trasero y hasta botox 😅. Y pues es un poco incómodo hacerlas entender que no es nuestro trabajo hacer que se vean como algo que no son. Para eso está la IA que hace mentiras! 😁 (Aunque suene duro).
Con Yuli, la chica de estas fotos no fue así gracias a Dios... Con ella hubo mucho feeling, y aunque tuvimos algunos desafíos a la hora de hacer esta sesión, todo fluyó muy muy bien...
En lo personal uno de los desafíos a los que me enfrente es que, mi cámara se está dañando... La trabajo en el modo manual y justo cuándo llega el momento de disparar la foto, el dial se vuelve loco y empieza a entrar a todas las funciones, me la descontrola y eso le añade un poco más de tensión al momento, pues la modelo debe muchas veces repetir la misma pose hasta que la cámara se calma y se queda en los parámetros que le coloco. Sin embargo estamos reuniendo (🥹🥲) para poder tener una nueva antes que arranque la faena de graduaciones de éste año.
En fin... Este medio conlleva muchos desafíos, pero son estos los que más presión representan para mí... En el caso de ustedes, ¿cómo Lidian con este tipo de público?

And as a photographer, you play the role of guiding the model and helping them break the ice until they feel comfortable and you can get the best angles and shots. Of course, this requires A LOT OF PATIENCE...
However, I also understand their point of view, because there are people who believe that the photographer is a surgeon. People today are used to a lot of filters, to seeing themselves in a way that they are not. And the camera does not perform those miracles; it will portray you as you are. No more, no less... And I've had to deal with people who, when I deliver the material, want a complete body reconstruction, with liposuction, breast implants, butt implants, and even Botox 😅. And well, it's a little awkward to make them understand that it's not our job to make them look like something they're not. That's what AI is for, to make up lies! 😁 (Although it sounds harsh).
Thank God, that wasn't the case with Yuli, the girl in these photos... We had a great connection, and although we had some challenges during the shoot, everything went very, very well...
Personally, one of the challenges I faced was that my camera is breaking down... I work in manual mode, and just when it's time to take the photo, the dial goes crazy and starts switching between all the functions, throwing me off and adding a little more tension to the moment, as the model often has to repeat the same pose until the camera calms down and stays at the settings I set. However, we are saving up (🥹🥲) so we can get a new one before this year's graduation season starts.
Anyway... This medium comes with many challenges, but these are the ones that put the most pressure on me... In your case, how do you deal with this type of audience?
