I took photos in a field of sunflowers!✨

I can happily say that my first goal for January in terms of whims has been achieved! 🙃

A couple of years ago, I saw photos of the sunflowers in Turem, Portuguesa state, on social media, and I thought: we'll go there on vacation sometime... 😅 Two years have gone by.

A few months ago, we were driving on the ARC highway and I noticed a field of sunflowers by the road. It was just a few minutes from my house, and I thought: I'll ask my husband to stop here so I can take some photos.

At the time, there was no information on social media, so I thought it was probably private property. At the end of December, I started seeing videos and photos of the place. It was public, but the problem was that some people weren't taking care of the site and were picking the flowers, so I told my husband: Take me there before they turn it into a disaster or make it private and we can't get in anymore. And the day came...

He had no idea where he was taking me, but I did, and that was what mattered. When we got there, everything was BURNT... there wasn't a single sunflower left alive. 😅🤡

When we were about to turn back, we asked a local man and he told us that the living sunflowers were at the foot of the mountain. And 😏 that's where we ended up.

It was midday, but it didn't matter, coming out of there sunburnt and dusty was an experience I wanted to enjoy!

We found the field with the most beautiful and vibrant flowers and started walking and taking as many photos as we could.

The sunflowers were a little wilted because their season was almost over, plus they don't have an irrigation system and it hadn't rained, so that's why they were in that condition.

However, despite everything, they were beautiful... 🌻

Even though we took the photos at noon when the light is terrible for photos, I loved them all...

Luckily, I didn't have to go to the turem to take some nice photos with sunflowers. This will definitely be an experience I want to repeat when the next crop comes around! 🌻✨
