Inicio de la Vuelta al Tachira en Bicicleta | Start of the Tour of Tachira by Bike (ESP-ENG)
Welcome to a new post, this time I will share a little of what was the beginning of the Vuelta al Táchira 2024 59th edition, this time is celebrated from January 14 to 21, the state of Táchira is adorned again to receive the International Fair of San Sebastian and with it the arrival of cycling to the state, I think we are the only state in Venezuela that leaves the Christmas holidays to enter in January to the fairs.
This competition is considered one of the most important in South America in cycling, where a binational stage makes it more attractive for lovers of this sport, this year has 6 foreign teams, one of them from Spain called Intxausti, as well as Mexico is also present with a team called Petrolike, but Venezuela is not left behind and as local representation 20 teams participate.
This first stage was very exciting, the route of 150 km distributed in 10 circuits that connected the Municipality of San Cristobal and Cardenas Municipality, the end of this stage was of impact, the winner was a Colombian of the Mexican team Petrolike, however, before crossing the finish line, the cyclist who was first was confident and raised his arms 10 meters before the finish line and the Colombian slipped through the right and pedaled until the last moment crossing the finish line first.
The city was boarded from early hours by fans of this sport, in family crowded, took their caves and chairs and spend a totally different morning, where every lap screamed and supported all cyclists, I must confess that I do not understand much this sport because in the awards ceremony, in addition to rewarding the first, second and third place, also delivered others.
