"Hay que adaptar las empresas a la sociedad, no al revés." — Alfredo Díaz

Desde el pasado viernes 21 de Febrero y hasta hoy domingo, se está realizando en los salones de conferencias del Lidotel Barquisimeto, un reconocido hotel boutique del este de esta ciudad venezolana donde resido, la tercera edición de la Expo Feria Ferretería y Construcción Lara 2025, un evento donde diferentes empresas exponen los bienes y servicios que ofrecen a los visitantes, particularmente aquellos destinados al mundo ferretero y la industria de la construcción.

Ayer sábado asistí, motivado fundamentalmente por conocer la variedad y la oferta actual de las empresas expositoras, ya que como ingeniero civil de profesión, estuve muchos años de mi vida ligado al sector de la construcción, aún cuando en la actualidad y por la difícil situación país, ya no ejerzo.

Me sorprendió gratamente la cantidad y variedad de expositores, la distribución de los stands, la amabilidad y el conocimiento de los promotores de ventas, y aunque la afluencia de visitantes no es masiva como podría serlo en otros tipos de eventos que suelen atraer un mayor público; tampoco era que el recinto estuviese desierto, simplemente es una actividad destinada a un público especializado y conocedor del área.

Finalmente, agradezco que actividades como esta se realicen en la ciudad, y aún más, que se extienda a muchas áreas y sectores económicos y que en un futuro alcance a exposiciones vinculadas a la gastronomía, bebidas, turismo, recreación, educación, bienes raíces y cualquier otra área del emprendimiento humano.

Since last Friday, February 21 and until today, Sunday, is being held in the conference rooms of the Lidotel Barquisimeto, a renowned boutique hotel in the east of this Venezuelan city where I live, the third edition of the Expo Feria Ferreteria y Construcción Lara 2025 (Expo Hardware and Construction Fair Lara 2025), an event where different companies exhibit the goods and services they offer to visitors, particularly those for the hardware world and the construction industry.

I attended yesterday, Saturday, mainly motivated by knowing the variety and the current offer of the exhibiting companies, since as a civil engineer by profession, I spent many years of my life linked to the construction sector, even though at present and due to the difficult situation of the country, I no longer practice.

I was pleasantly surprised by the number and variety of exhibitors, the distribution of the stands, the kindness and knowledge of the sales promoters, and although the influx of visitors is not massive as it could be in other types of events that usually attract a larger audience, it was not that the enclosure was deserted, it is simply an activity aimed at a specialized and knowledgeable public in the area.

Finally, I am grateful that activities such as this one take place in the city, and even more, that it is extended to many areas and economic sectors and that in the future it will reach exhibitions related to gastronomy, beverages, tourism, recreation, education, real estate and any other area of human endeavor.
