Fête de la Musique

Last month, coinciding with the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, the Fête de la Musique was held, a music festival sponsored by the Alliance Française Barquisimeto, which took place in various public and private venues in the city.

Its origin dates back to 1982, when the authorities of the French Ministry of Culture, held the first festival in that nation with the aim of democratizing access to music with free concerts for the public, in addition, to promote and disseminate various genres and artists, extending some years later to other countries.

On this occasion, I had the opportunity to attend three presentations in three different locations, the first of which was at the local music conservatory, where a jazz big band offered a recital where they included songs from Earth, Wind & Fire, to great and recognized classics of this musical genre.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

El mes pasado y coincidiendo con el solsticio de verano en el hemisferio norte, se realizó el Fête de la Musique, un festival musical patrocinado por la Alianza Francesa Barquisimeto, y el cual tuvo como escenarios diversos espacios de la ciudad, tanto públicos como privados.

Su origen se remonta a 1982, cuando las autoridades del Ministerio de Cultura francés, efectuaron el primer festival en aquella nación con el objetivo de democratizar el acceso a la música con conciertos gratuitos para el público, además, de promover y difundir diversos géneros y artistas, extendiéndose algunos años después a otros países.

En esta ocasión, tuve la oportunidad de asistir a tres presentaciones en tres localidades diferentes, la primera de las cuales fué en el conservatorio musical local, donde una big band de jazz ofreció un recital donde incluyeron desde temas de Earth, Wind & Fire, hasta grandes y reconocidos clásicos de este género musical.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
