We are currently celebrating Holy Week, which is the annual commemoration of the passion of Jesus: from his entrance to Jerusalem, his last supper, the Stations of the Cross, and finally, his death and resurrection on Easter Sunday, according to Christian tradition.

On these dates, the Church usually performs several activities, among them, the procession through the streets and avenues of The Nazarene (El Nazareno) on Holy Wednesday, as part of a popular tradition that commemorates the Passion of Christ, and which enjoys great popularity in Spain, the Philippines and many Latin American countries.

During the tour that I made last year by various temples of the city, as part of the activities of that Holy Week, I had the opportunity to photograph this Nazarene with his cross on his back, which is located in the Basilica of the Holy Christ of Grace (Basilica del Santo Cristo de la Gracia), more commonly known as El Cristo Church.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

Actualmente nos encontramos celebrando la Semana Santa, que es la conmemoración anual de la pasión de Jesús: desde su entrada a Jerusalén, su última cena, el viacrucis, y finalmente, su muerte y su resurrección el Domingo de Pascus, según la tradición cristiana.

En estas fechas, la Iglesia suele realizar diversas actividades, entre ellas, la procesión por las calles y avenidas de El Nazareno el Miércoles Santo, como parte de una tradición popular que conmemora la Pasión de Cristo, y la cual goza de mucha popularidad en España, las Filipinas y muchos países de América Latina.

Durante el recorrido que realizara el año pasado por diversos templos de la ciudad, como parte de las actividades de aquella Semana Santa, tuve la oportunidad de fotografiar este Nazareno con su cruz a cuestas, el cual se encuentra en la Basílica del Santo Cristo de la Gracia, más comúnmente conocida como Iglesia El Cristo.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
