A distraction is something that attracts or diverts a person's attention when he or she should be attending to something specific. It can be an absolutely mechanical phenomenon, caused by an inability to pay attention, a lack of interest in the object of attention, a greater interest or attraction to something other than the object of attention, or by attention disorders.

When a person is distracted, he or she stops paying attention to something and diverts it to a new point of interest. There are deliberately sought distractions, as in the case of games or shows that allow us to relax, or harmless distractions, and sometimes, some with consequences that can be very dangerous.

This pair of photos from my personal archive were taken during a family celebration when my sister was distracted by her cell phone.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

Una distracción es algo que atrae o desvía la atención de una persona cuando se debería estar atendiendo a algo específico. Puede ser un fenómeno absolutamente mecánico, causado por una incapacidad de prestar atención, una falta de interés en el objeto de la atención, un mayor interés o atracción hacia algo diferente al objeto de la atención, o bien, por trastornos de la atención.

Cuando una persona se distrae, deja de prestar atención a algo y la deriva hacia un nuevo punto de interés. Hay distracciones buscadas adrede, como es el caso de los juegos o espectáculos que nos permiten relajarnos, o distracciones inofensivas, y en ocasiones, algunas con consecuencias que pueden ser muy peligrosas.

Este par de fotos de mi archivo personal, las tomé durante una celebración familiar cuando mi hermana se encontraba distraída con su teléfono móvil.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
