A couple of days ago, I was attending some personal matters in a shopping mall located at the other end of the city where I live.

Even though it is not the most modern, crowded or biggest mall in the city, and even though I had not visited it for some time, every time I go there very pleasant memories come to my mind.

Almost two decades ago, I participated as one of the supervising engineers during its construction, where we had the responsibility of taking care of every detail, from the earth moving at the beginning, to the general cleaning a few hours before its inauguration.

Un par de días atrás, estuve atendiendo algunos asuntos personales en un centro comercial ubicado en el otro extremo de la ciudad donde resido.

Aún cuando no es el mall más moderno, concurrido o grande de la ciudad, y a pesar de que tenía algún tiempo sin visitarlo, cada vez que voy allá vienen a mi memoria muy gratos recuerdos.

Hace ya casi dos décadas atrás, participé como uno de los ingenieros supervisores durante su construcción, donde tuvimos la responsabilidad de atender cada detalle, desde el movimiento de tierra en sus inicios, hasta la limpieza general pocas horas antes de su inauguración.

Like many of my colleagues, some of whom were young people with little time of graduation at that time, but enthusiastic and with great desire to learn, I was entrusted with various responsibilities during the different stages of construction, which is why I had to go through the entire building on countless occasions, even those service areas that today are restricted or hidden to the general public.

In this opportunity, many of those memories came to my mind again, and after concluding the steps for which I had gone, I walked again its corridors, stairs and elevators, which even after 20 years of service are still in perfect condition, which filled me with great satisfaction.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

Al igual que muchos de mis compañeros, algunos de los cuales eran jóvenes con poco tiempo de egresados en aquel entonces, pero entusiastas y con grandes deseos de aprender; me fueron encomendades diversas responsabilidades durante las diferentes etapas de la construcción, razón por la cual, me tocó recorrer en infinidad de ocasiones toda la edificación, incluso aquellas áreas de servicio que hoy en día están restringidas u ocultas al público en general.

En esta oportunidad, muchos de aquellos recuerdos acudieron nuevamente a mi mente, y luego de concluir las gestiones por las cuales había ido, recorrí nuevamente sus pasillos, escaleras y ascensores, los cuales aún después de 20 años de servicio se conservan en perfecto estado, lo cual me llenó de mucha satisfacción.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
