A brick is a construction element, generally made of fired clay mass in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, used to build walls and other structures.

Its use began about 11,000 years ago, during the Neolithic period. However, at that time, they were not made with the same elements that we use today, when bricks are usually built with clay, which combines hydrated alumina silicates, illite, kaolin and other minerals, and thanks to high temperature firing, they are more resistant than adobe.

This monument, known as Plaza La Cruz, is located in the central area of the city of Cabudare, and was built in 1856 as a form of protection against the cholera epidemic that struck not only this city but also the entire region at that time.

On countless occasions I had passed by it, but I had never stopped to take a picture of it until one day, long ago, I did, and today this image is part of my personal archive.

As I have described in previous publications, I used the editing tools offered by Picsart and Snapseed applications to intervene the original image to my satisfaction.

Un ladrillo es un elemento de construcción, generalmente elaborado con masa de barro cocida con forma de paralelepípedo rectangular y que permite construir muros y otras estructuras.

Su utilización se inició hace unos 11.000 años, durante el Neolítico. Sin embargo, en aquel entonces, no se elaboraban con los mismos elementos que usamos en la actualidad, cuando los ladrillos suelen construirse con arcilla, que combina silicatos hidratados de alúmina, illita, caolín y otros minerales, y gracias a la cocción a altas temperaturas, son más resistentes que el adobe.

Este monumento conocido como Plaza La Cruz, está ubicado en el casco central de la ciudad de Cabudare, y habría sido construído en 1856 como una forma de protección ante la epidemia de cólera que azotaba, no sólo esta ciudad sinó también toda la región en aquella época.

En innumerables ocasiones había transitado por allí, pero nunca me había detenido a tomarle una foto hasta que un día, mucho tiempo atrás, lo hice, y hoy en día esta imagen forma parte de mi archivo personal.

Tal como lo he descrito en publicaciones anteriores, usé las herramientas de edición que ofrecen las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed para intervenir las imágenes originales a mi entera satisfacción.
