Energy is the capacity of a system to generate work, transform or set a body or object in motion.

Humans and animals require energy to stay alive, such as the energy obtained from food intake. Civilization requires energy to function, which comes from energy resources such as fossil fuels, nuclear fuel or renewable energies such as the sun, air or wind.

In the vicinity of my home, there are three service stations dedicated to the sale of gasoline and other petroleum-based additives for private vehicles. They are located on three of the four corners of the intersection of two major avenues, so it is possible to access it from the four cardinal points, so that, except in times of shortage, it is always possible to buy fuel.

Even today, fossil fuels continue to be the main energy sources, although they are expected to be replaced in the coming decades by other sources that generate less pollution.

La energía es la capacidad de un sistema para generar trabajo, transformar o poner un cuerpo u objeto en movimiento.

Los seres humanos y los animales requerimos energía para mantenernos vivos, como la energía que se obtiene de la ingesta de alimentos. La civilización requiere energía para funcionar, la cual proviene de recursos energéticos como los combustibles fósiles, el combustible nuclear o las energías renovables, tales como el sol, el aire o el viento.

En los alrededores de mi hogar, se encuentran tres estaciones de servicio dedicadas a la venta de gasolina y otros aditivos provenientes del petróleo, para vehículos particulares. Están ubicadas en tres de las cuatro esquinas de la intersección de dos grandes avenidas, por lo que es posible acceder a ella por los cuatro puntos cardinales, por lo que, salvo en tiempos de escasez, siempre es posible comprar combustible.

Aún en la actualidad, los combustibles de origen fósil siguen siendo las principales fuentes energéticas, aunque esta previsto en las próximas décadas su sustitución por otras fuentes que generen menor contaminación.
